Dear :

I am so sorry for your loss. You were able to put the most positive spin in

the situation. You were very lucky to have such good nurses and times of

lucidity and joy, I know that will be a permament comfort to you and your

family.

It is good to remember those good times at the end, which always put a smile

on my fice when I remember them in my case. Still, the loss is tremendous and

he will be missed. I have keept your dad, you and your family in my prayers,

I will continue to pray for him and you all. Hugs,

Josie

Oh , I'm so terribly sorry to hear about your Dad's passing.

It's nice to hear that his last few weeks had some moments of

comfort and enjoyment. I hope that when the time comes for my

father, that I recognize it like you did, and that he is surrounded

by family, caring medical support, and love.

I hope that the next few days, weeks and months brings you to a

place where the specter of Lewy recedes and leaves you most with

memories of your father at happier times.

With prayers for strength, and care that stretches beyond the limits

of technology,

My heart always sinks when I read of peoples loss.

I think it's partly feeling the pain that you must now feel and partly that

I dream of the day when someone will win the battle. But not today.

I'm so sorry. I hope you are ok

my dad died

Almost four weeks ago I wrote and said my Dad was dying and I would

write when it was over. We had thought it was a matter of days or

hours, but it turned into just over three weeks during which he

slipped and rallied several times.

He was put in the hospital with a heart fibrillation, dehydration

and most of all, severe pneumonia, probably caused by aspiration.

After a few days he went to a nursing home. He got a bit better,

even standing and taking a couple of steps one day. He then got a

flu-like virus which set him back. He did get some enjoyment during

his last weeks though, smiled more than the previous couple of

months, and for the most part, was fairly clear mentally when he was

able to communicate with us. The main downfall, was the trouble he

was having swallowing. Like everything else with LBD it fluctuated.

He could eat, then a few hours later couldn't swallow. Aspiration

became a huge problem.

We did get very good, kind care at the nursing home.

The nurses insisted the doctors cooperate with them to keep him

comfortable. He went peacefully last Friday with his caregiver at

his side. We will miss him terribly.

I am deeply sorry for your loss. I am sitting here with tears running down

my face. I know your loss.

I am glad that he had a few good weeks. I think what helps me is knowing

that my mother did not suffer long.

I am glad you have the good memories. If I can help you in any way please

let me know.

Lynn,

Yes I have wonderful memories. Many years of them. Right now I am trying to

deal with my dad who lost his wife/lover of 70 years. Seems as if life just

keeps us struggling.

So sorry for the loss of your father. I am glad you were able to

share some clear moments with him before his passing. May you hold

on to those moments and may they bring you great comfort. You have

my sympathy.
