Guest guest
Hello, I haven't written in quite a while. I've been through a very stressful time on top of a very stressful time. I've been on Bi-Est, Progesterone, Testoterone, and Hydrocrtisol for 2-3 years now. This was after taking the saliva test. My temp. has always been around 97 degrees, and when the pain dr. took it last week, it was 95 degrees (when the nurse took it the first time, she said, " That can't be right " , and immediately took it again, with the same results.) So, my question is, do you think that my adrenals are just stressed beyond the max? (the first stress was losing my grandbaby triplets who were born alive, but died that same day. They should have been viable and noone understands why they didn't make it.). Then, I've had major marital stress, which we are working on, but it has taken its' toll, believe me. I live in Fort Worth, and am thinking that a trip to the doctor in Lubbock may be in order. I would like to know if everyone who has seen him (and reported here) has been pleased with the visit. It would take a long time to read all of the messages, and I thought that perhaps you could give me some idea...I don't expect specifics, of course. It just seems that when I do read the messages, they are all positive...is that pretty much correct? Thanks, , in TX
Guest guest
I am so happy with the results for myself and both of my daughters. My insurance does not cover it. I have absolutely no regrets with deciding to go. I would do it again in a second. Yes, it can take a while to get better but I look back on how I was a year ago compared to today and I am SO MUCH BETTER!!! I am actually able to function rather then be in bed all day and when I wasn't in bed think about how I was going to get back there. We are not talking about depression type of wanting to go to bed. This was my body shutting down from lack of thyroid and HC. I'm probably bounced back quicker then others because I don't have Hashi's. But I have been hypothyroid for probably 25-30 years only started receiving treatment last year. I am so sorry for your loss of the babies as well as your marital challenges. Guest guest
Another thing to consider is that most thermometers are NOT designed to register accurately LOW temps, just high and normal. Take it yourself with a glass thermometer. Also, our prayers are with you in your stressful time. Terijo
Guest guest
, The events you describe could put even a healthy person right on the ground. Low temperature is a hypo symptom. You didn't mention if you've had recent thyroid labs or if you're currently taking any thyroid. I'd think that's the first thing to check out. In addition to the Ferritin that Jan mentioned, there's also B6, B12, DHEA that need testing. As far as we know, everybody who's seen Dr. R. is pretty happy. Sometimes people have had to stop going due to the financial burden, but not because they weren't happy with their treatment. You do understand that it wouldn't be "one" trip, of course? How often a person needs to go is completely individual and depends on their specific health situation. Good luck and I hope you find good care soon. Guest guest
- so sorry for all your stresses. It would knock down a healthy person, for sure, to go through all that. Your (oral?) temperature is extremely low. I cannot imagine how low your average BBT would be. You need a lot more expert support than you are getting now, IMHO. I was very sick, exhausted, not sleeping and riddled with anxiety and had not found any relief from Dallas docs. I now know that I was sick for many years prior. I've seen Dr. since Jan. 2005 and my improvements have come as he described they would. I'm way better than I was before, and my anxiety is gone, and I'm sleeping better now than in a long time. I still have ups and downs with stresses (but nothing like yours), weather, and the Hashi condition. But I'm functioning really well more frequently now. I might add that my DH was in a bad health slide and he is also seeing Dr. . He is amazingly better, but still has room for improvement. He's not sure how much better he wants to get, he's been so pleased. After reading over 22,000 posts since I joined the board in 2004, I believe very strongly that Dr. is the most knowledgable and has the best track record of success of any doctors reported here. He addresses all things that need to be treated, doesn't push extra stuff, knows how long it takes for things to work together and for you to get better. I believe those of us who see him have reported the highest satisfaction of any doc reported. Not only does he know what he's doing, but he's so nice to work with and the staff is great. I just don't think you should waste any more time. I recommend you get out there to see him. Take care - Sara > > Hello, > I haven't written in quite a while. Guest guest
For some reason, I'm getting this message very very late, I should have gotten it yesterday morning, but didn't. Anyway, you don't say anything about thyroid testing, only the adrenals. What are you on for low thyroid? Surely you are being treated for that one, with the adrenal testing coming out the way it did. 2 Questions: Temperature and the Dr. in Lubbock > Hello, > I haven't written in quite a while. Guest guest
I second everything Sara says below... even though right now I'm at one of the "lows" of Hashi's up and downs, I'm NOWHERE near the rock bottom I had hit before seeing Dr. R.... he's amazing... he will do whatever it takes (with all his knowledge) to make you feel better, well, good, great!rgrprop wrote: - so sorry for all your stresses.
