Guest guest
Kim, I am glad to read you got to a point where you felt better on this Candida diet. I was having no symptoms at first, and thinking I must not have it very bad, and then, the flu like symptoms hit really hard. They're going away now. Did you notice a big improvement in how you felt once you completed the candida treatment? As my understanding is Dr. Gonino is doing this candida treatment first to knock out those symptoms that could be the same as low thyroid, making me feel like my thyroid meds aren't working. Does that make sense? I believe I am at or near correct thyroid medication dosage, but still continue to have alot of low thyroid symptoms and not able to lose weight. I noticed that many of the candida symptoms were the same as low thyroid. Thanks! Dawn > > > I think you have a great idea of allowing a time frame for when you hope to > see positive results. Guest guest
Yes, the Candida diet did help for a time. I did lose weight on it. The doctors I went to never gave me antifungals. You are right all of the symptoms overlap for Candida and thyroid. They are also similar for depression. Unfortunately with me the traditional doctors kept shoving antidepressants at me. The holistic doctors kept calling it Candida. Neither got to the root cause...hypothyroidism. I had to figure it out for myself 20 some years later. I did the Candida diet last year when all of my hypothyroid/hypoadrenal symptoms came to head. I kept waiting for the " die-off or detoxing " to end, it never happened. I just kept feeling sicker and sicker and never lost weight last year on it (just gained). I think because my thyroid and adrenal were just too shot by then. I found several sources that pushed me to figure out what my imbalance was that was causing recurring Candida issues, if that was what I was truly dealing with. That was when I finally figured out the thyroid/adrenal part. It sounds like you have all of your bases covered! I'm sure you'll notice a big improvement. Hang in there!
