SOME SAYINGS THAT APPLY IN THE AFFIRMATION TO DE-STRESS YAHOOGROUP The sayings that we have all heard from various places like: 1) "Fake it till you make it" and 2) "Take what you want, and leave the rest" certainly apply for us as affirmation members. When a person desires to make big changes in their life, it takes time. We can desire to make a change, visualize actually making the change, take steps to help make the change come true, and follow through with action, and more desire. However, we may fall short of the goal, or slip back to our old ways before we realize it?! That is okay. Sometimes we do have to "FAKE IT, UNTIL YOU MAKE IT"! Or in other words, sometimes we have to "ACT AS IF", before we actually are there yet. "Practice makes perfect" can also apply to making changes in our

lives. All of this can apply to the habit of saying affirmations everyday, or getting in the habit of doing the dishes after every meal, or trying to become more positive, or saying prayers before meals, or whatever else you have going on in your daily lives. Even thinking better of yourself, and not putting yourself "down" can be a worthy habit & goal to attain! As far as, "TAKE WHAT YOU WANT, AND LEAVE THE REST" -- This certainly applies here in the affirmations group. Maybe I'm in a funk one day, and say things that I regret later to a group member, or even share with the affirmation group, ...well, I'm human, and I make mistakes. If I realize my mistake, I tend to apologize and try to make things right. But, let's say that I never even notice that I might have offended someone, and go on my merry little way. I hope &

pray that you guys realize that I am human, full of flaws & character defects; and sometimes I have too big of a mouth, and say things I shouldn't. I would hope in this case, that you guys would think about it a minute, and say, ..."Oh, guess PJ isn't having a good day (or week)! Guess I won't take her comments personally this time. I'll give her the benefit of the doubt!" Now If I became surly and out of sorts ALL OF THE TIME, then you could say, ..."WOW, something is going on here, ...I think I'd be more comfortable going to another group for awhile!" All of us come from different backgrounds, have feelings and emotions, and beliefs that may frequently conflict with someone else and their beliefs. I believe that sometimes it is good to be open-minded, tolerant and explore what is out there. However, I am never asking you guys to go

along with attitudes or beliefs or religious teachings, that go against your basic belief system. If it is something that you can tolerate by reading the message, and then hitting the "delete" key and letting it go -- that is great. Or, if some particular individual tends to write things that upset you on a regular basis, perhaps ALWAYS hit the "delete" key BEFORE even reading the message would be a good choice in that case. As members, please know that any of you, or all of you can always write to me to discuss things that are bothering you about the group, or ways you wish the group would change. I may not always agree with you, nor always make the changes. But, I will certainly listen, and consider what you say. My private email for the moderators & myself is: mollyann365@... for anyone interested in writing their comments to the moderators of affirmations. And, .... if all else fails, ..."TAKE WHAT YOU WANT (from this group's messages), AND LEAVE THE REST" (for someone else who wants that more). Love, Peace, & Hugs, PJ/affirmations to de-stress owner
