Guest guest
in Lufkin is a spammer and is no longer a member of this group. I now see Dr. just once a year. At first it was every three months, then six months. I could see him more often if I wanted to. DelanaK65 wrote: Hey in Lufkin. I was curious as to how you are feeling? I haven't seen an update from you in a while. Also, I was wondering if you are still seeing Dr. Kittley? I live in Woodville. I am debating who to make an appt. with as far as docs. I have a daughter in Webster, so I am considering Dr. Hartig. I also travel to Lufkin periodically, and am considering Dr. Kittley. Also, I would like to get imput from others about how often they have blood work done. I just find it odd that my doc at MD only wants to see me once a year. Is this the norm? Thanks for the info. Guest guest
Thanks. I guess I will give Dr. Hartig a try. Jan wrote: in Lufkin is a spammer and is no longer a member of this group. Guest guest
Do you feel you are optimized and stable at your current dose? Do you feel you would do better with more frequent blood work? I rarely go a year without a crash, so I will call up and get an appointment. I have enough prescription refills to go 9 months if I wanted. But I am most comfortable with twice a year. Just my opinion. Guest guest
Honestly, there are days that I feel that everything is working properly. But that seems to be less often than it used to. Not that I have ever gone a long period of just feeling energetic. It is just within the past 6-7 months it has gotten much worse. I have somewhat hesitantly been looking for work. I could have gotten two different jobs within the past month but turned them both down due to fear of feeling horrible. Hindsight, I was correct. Just like today. Once again, I wake up so nauseated from sinus drainage, my eyes and face swollen and just feel plain icky. I have not had much energy to do anything. When I do get those bursts of energy I try and get as much done. Don't get me wrong, I'm not bed ridden, I just don't feel good. If push came to shove, I could and would work feeling like this. It is just that I want to feel good in order to be a good worker and actually enjoy what I am doing. I have never been a ball of energy, even from the time I was in school. I have been constipated my whole life and take pills for that. I just want my energy level to stabilize. I think a lot of us on here can relate to this. I will call Dr. Hartig and see if I can get in to see her soon. Delanadancer wrote: Do you feel you are optimized and stable at your current dose? Guest guest
It could be that you have a couple of things going on. A sinus infection, maybe. The puffy face and constipation could be thyroid related. Those two things tell me my meds are off. My hubs always had a problem with the big C, but the problem went away when he went on a low carb diet. Delana K wrote: > Honestly, there are days that I feel that everything is working > properly. Guest guest
It sounds like you are not optimized. Maybe you need more of what you are taking. Some including Jan have had success with taking a combination. For your sinuses, have you tried doing a sinus rinse? When mine really flare up this helps a lot. Before being diagnosed with hypothyroidism I had TERRIBLE sinus difficulty. I could not go longer then a few weeks without being infected. I finally ended up having sinus surgery...essentially a roto-rooter of the sinuses. As someone else posted, I have heard that allergies improve when thyroid replacement is optimized. I'm still pretty new to treatment and not optimized to see if my allergies improve. I was due for a dosage increase and my allergies have been worse but it could because of the weather also. Right now I take a 12 hour over the counter antihistamine twice a day. Claritin does not work very well for me. My ENT doctor said that it does not work well for MANY patients. I hope you feel better soon! Guest guest
Thanks for the reply everyone. I am still torn as to which doctor to go see. I am closer to Dr. Kittley. I have done a search on her online and see has a very interesting website. I would like to know someone that has actual experience with her. So, Kim, you said that the claritin doesn't work very well. What do you take then, or is that what you take? Just curious. I usually have to take a psuedoephidrine to open me up and an allery pill benadryl, to help. I agree about the medicine. I think I need something to help with my meds such as cytomel. If that doesn't work then I may try the armour. Delana __________________________________________________
Guest guest
Whichever doc you decide to see, please give us a full report. We do not really have a lot of info about Kittley or Hartig. As a thyca survivor, you have some different issues that need to be addressed besides the usual. If you have any questions, Dr. Kittley is pretty accessible by email. Here is the last email address I had for her: dr@... Delana K wrote: Thanks for the reply everyone. I am still torn as to which doctor to go see. I am closer to Dr. Kittley. Guest guest
Kim, Are you happy with the results of your sinus surgery? I am considering it. I know I am not optimized with my thyroid, have been working on it for over a year. My allergies are terrible. I am on shots but cannot stay well enough to get them as often as I should. So, I am seeing a surgeon next week to discuss sinus surgery. Thanks, RE: Dr. Kittley It sounds like you are not optimized. Maybe you need more of what you are taking.
