Guest guest
Hello Barb: What is tennex used for? I was just wondering because we have never had to try it. Thankyou and good luck! Gayle
Guest guest
It is actually a blood pressure medicine, but Dr. G uses it to control hyperactivity and promote focus. Guest guest
Hi Barb, My son has been on Tenex for a few months now. Dr. Goldberg started our son on 1/8th twice daily, and increased to 1/4 twice daily after a couple of weeks...we saw no results with just 1/8th, but he is no longer hyper with the 1/4th dosage. So far Tenex is working, although some days (very rarely), he gets hyper, he is also more focused. I hope this information helps. Don't forget to tell Dr. Golderg that the 1/8th dosage does not work, we almost gave up, now I'm glad we didn't! Best of Luck, Argie tennex For those of you who have tried tennex with their kids, I was wondering what kinds of results you had and how low it took to see the results. I remember someone saying that they saw good results but that then they went away after awhile. We are on 1/8 tablet twice a week, since Thurs night, and so far, I am seeing no differences. Guest guest
Hi! I'm glad to hear that you got results with the 1/4. We are getting none with the 1/8. But Dr. G said we would be on the 1/8 for 4 days and then go up to 1/4 as long as there were no adverse reactions. At least that what I think he said. I will check with him after 4 days. Barb ps: How long did it take on the 1/4 before you saw improvements? At what point did it get as good as it would get? Guest guest
Hi Barb, 's been on Tenex for about two months. He started at 1/8 tablet 2X a day, and we saw increased focus, better eye contact, and *better emotional connection* within a couple of days, but that went away after about two weeks. Dr. G increased the dose to 1/4 in the a.m. and 1/8 in the p.m. That seemed to do it for my son, although we may still increase the dose to 1/4 twice a day after our next visit. Dr. G said that if the Tenex didn't totally knock my son out (i.e., make him very sleepy), then it would increase his focus. If you're seeing no effect at all by now, perhaps your child just needs a small increase. HTH and good luck, Donna For those of you who have tried tennex with their kids, I was wondering what kinds of results you had and how low it took to see the results. Guest guest
Thanks, Donna. We go up to 1/4 2x per day, starting tonight, so I am looking forward to seeing if it decreases his hyperactivity. Guest guest
Hello Barb, We saw improvements a couple of days after increasing it. He still gets hyper sometimes, but it's usually because he had something he wasn't supposed to (a cookie at school). Or sometimes he will start running around the house (he seems to need the release of energy), but this not frequent. Good Luck! Argie RE: tennex Hi!
