Guest guest
I wrote this for a little newsletter once and decided to share it.-renememlightTO BE OR NOT TO BE STRESSED (Written by Gadreau)What is stress and by today's standards how does one define it."Physical or mental pressure" that's it in a nutshell! In fact, stress is the major factor of many diseases and health issues.Amidst all the heartaches and despondency, the fear and anxiety, you can create your own world of peace and serenity.Like most people on a tight schedule, how does one find time to relieve unwanted stress?I'll get right to the point. I've found in my life I can have a major amount of stress relieved by a few simple techniques.I listen to affirmations daily. Sometimes it's a "101 Power Thoughts for Life" CD by Louise Hay in the morning. I go about my morning routine listening and repeating the affirmations. I take 5-10 minutes to relax and connect within. One important thing--learn to create how it would "FEEL" to be peaceful and calm. Visualize the places that you love to go to and how you FEEL there. Do you feel happy, calm or peaceful?Carry those feelings and thoughts with you throughout the day. Create your own affirmations that will bring you back to the places of peace, happiness and calm in moments when you just can't take it any more.Breathing is another technique. You may want to take a minute to regroup. If you are in a stressful situation, look at it with a new awareness. Breath deeply and say; "No matter what situation I am in I am peaceful."Believe it or not, we create our own stress. It's the choices we make, the dramas we attract. Yes we do attract like situations. Change your choice of negative words and thoughts to positive ones. Our thoughts and words create an energy. We can't see it but we can FEEL it's effects.List the stressful things in your life. Look at the list closely and see what can be changed and act on it. Don't worry about the past. Live for the moment, the experience you are living right now. Dwelling on the past or future will create stress, so don't. You will miss out on the wonderful moment you are experiencing right now! Take a moment, breath deeply, in this moment right now, all is perfect, all is well in your world. We can't change the past but we can help our future, by allowing ourselves to think positive thoughts and feeling its impact.
