Guest guest
HI, MY SON WAS DX WITH PDD AT 27 MONTHS. HIS PED. FOLLOWS PROTOCOL/GFCF DIET. PUT MY SON ON IT. SAW IMPROVEMENT WITH SPEECH AND EYE CONTACT. MY SON HAS SEVERE AGGRESSION ISSUES AND SLEEP PROBLEMS DID NOT HELP THIS. AT AGE 3 MY SON SAW A CHILD PSYCH. WHO PUT HIM AN RESPERADOL FOR EXTREME PDD BEHAVIOR POSSIBLE MOOD DISORDER. THIS HAS HELPED WITH AGGRESSION BUT NOT WITH SLEEP ISSUES. TENEX AND CELEXA MADE BEHAVIORS WORSE. GOOD LUCK. Guest guest
My son was diagnosed with PDD-NOS just after his third birthday. The " traditional " route (neurologist, special ed preschool with a little speech and OT) brought no improvements. It wasn't until I put him on a diet (originally GFCF) that everyone saw improvements. Switched to the diet (with restrictions on additives) about six months later and then started with Dr. Goldberg when he was 4 years old. Been working with Dr. G for over two years and are very pleased with my son's improvements. Let me know if you have specific questions.... - in Mobile, AL Reality lies beyond the horizon... Guest guest
~~ Oh Gosh, please be careful with the Risperdal. You will find with time that your child has severe urination and thirst problems that will take some time to overcome. Thanks~~ Rose Re: Anyone'sChildBeingTreatedForPDD? Guest guest
My son was also diagnosed at 3 with PDD-NOS. We treated allergy and yeast issues as best we could while doing speech & OT, and saw quite a bit of improvement. He was seen at the New York clinic in April, and that has been the final piece of the puzzle for him. His speech is now age appropriate and he attends a regular kindergarten class. Guest guest
ROSE, COULD YOU GIVE ME MORE INFO. ON THE RESPERDAL? WHAT CAUSES THE URINATION AND THIRST ISSUE? Guest guest
Hello I just caught this thread - my boy was on this drug - a very very low dose he was around 50lbs and on I think from memory just point 2 of a ml in the morning - this just settled him nicely and gave him an appetite which he needed - I noticed when I went over this dose he would have wet pants problems I was told its partly a muscle relaxant and this may be why. He did well on this for about 18months - then I noticed he was starting to stutter suddenly and this got worse very quickly - so I took him off it and the stutter went away. I was worried it may be the beginning of tics or something sinister. This was all before I discovered Dr Goldbergs protocol and he went onto Zoloft with good results. Guest guest
~~ I'm not sure. It creates almost a diabetic-like effect. We took Kristian off it about a year-and-a-half ago after using it first, as a need-based sedative and then daily for a year or so. We had severe aggression for a few solid years, but taking our son off milk and later chocolate and working with Dr. Goldberg, we now have minimal problems (knock on wood!!!). Guest guest
~~ Just that the problems become very severe. I know some others on this list went thru the same thing. Our son was peeing everywhere and all the time. TO the degree that they wanted him to wear a tank swim suit during the day at school so he didn't have such urgent access. Good Luck~~ Rose Re: Anyone'sChildBeingTreatedForPDD? ROSE, COULD YOU GIVE ME MORE INFO. ON THE RESPERDAL? WHAT CAUSES THE URINATION AND THIRST ISSUE? ANY OTHER PROBLEMS I SHOULD KNOW?
