From what I read this medication is described as: Ziconotide is a novel non-opioid, non local anesthetic, developed for the treatment of severe chronic pain. Ziconotide (also previously referred to as CI 1009, or SNX-111) is the synthetic form of the cone snail peptide w-cenotoxin M-VII-A, a neurone-specific N-type calcium channel blocker that is being developed as an analgesic agent. It would seem that this medication is developed to deal with neuropathic pain. Also, I went to a couple of the drug information sites and typed in the name, to my surprise they have no listing for this medication. it would seem that this medication is coming on stream but exactly who has it that is the question.
