Guest guest
Hi, My 8-month-old son has been having seizures since he was 3.5 months old. We have tried Keppra, Trileptal, Depakote and Topamax. The Topamax was the only drug that reduced the frequency of the seizures so he's still on that one. When his seizures morphed into infantile spasms, we tried a high-dose of steroids. That didn't work. Now we're trying Vigabatrin. He has been on it for 4 days and so far he hasn't had any seizures. I'd like to be able to get my hopes up, but with all the other drugs, there was always what his doctor called a " honeymoon period " , where the drug would stop the seizures for a few days. But the seizures always returned. Has anyone else used Vigabatrin? Is there often a honeymoon period with this drug, or, if it works in the beginning, does it keep working? Thanks so much,
