Guest guest
does exactly this when he needs Vest Airway treatments. It is ususally a sign that he has lots of junk in his lungs. When we do percussion....and he 'gives' us the junk....we can avoid his getting sick.  Sharon - Mom to (13) Subject: Re: Breathing like panting To: polymicrogyria Date: Friday, August 6, 2010, 12:31 AM  It is very hot outside but this started and continued inside our house at about 70 degrees with the AC. > > > > , how is the weather? Guest guest
Percussion definately helps if kids are coughing, or if stuff is in their lungs. Maybe ask your doc or Medicaid Services Coordinator (do you have those in your state?) about getting one of those vests. Also, what was the pulse ox rate? and some O2 wouldn't hurt, right? Plenty of kids with disabilities have an oxygen tank at home.... YOu must be so stressed out! Good luck, Thea in NY Breathing like panting > > Hey everyone, > > Phoebe (3 1/2yrs) started on Monday night 8/2/10 breathing rapidly. It looks > like panting. Guest guest
has a seizure where he looks like he is having trouble breathing, we call it the gasping seizure, and it has freak many drs out when they see it, his resipations do become increased but we have put a pulso ox on him during it and his o2 is normal, they have done xrays to see if somtheing is blocking his airway and can find nothing, it is really scary to hear and see your child struggle to breathe. ________________________________ To: polymicrogyria Sent: Fri, August 6, 2010 10:15:46 AM Subject: Re: Re: Breathing like panting  Percussion definately helps if kids are coughing, or if stuff is in their lungs.
