Guest guest
Hey! I just realized that I saved this email from last month, and never replied. Sorry! 6 years..hmm..... I started at 380 and don't recall my BMI. Gosh, I used to.... Lowest weight 158. Currently 170 (but have started to work out again, so it will go down again!) I have had a panniculectomy, breast lift and agumentation, brachioplasty and 3 hernia repairs. After the last hernia repair I got a mesh infection and had to have it removed. Shortly after that, my insurance expired. I finally have insurance again and will be having my FINAL hernia surgery on Feb 2! I can now cross my legs, fit in the theater seats, not have to ask for the seat belt extender on a plane and ride the rollercoasters without alarms going off because the seat bar won't lock down! I can now go into an all-you-can-eat buffet without the people who work there rolling their eyes, but then I have found that I really would rather order something smaller, tastier, with less emphasis on getting the most food for my money, just the best quality. I still love food, but not for quantity anymore. I have only exercised sporadically over the years. I will be " good " for 3-6 months and then taper off. I need to make it a permenant lifestyle change, I know. I am just a lazy butt. I know that if I start drinking Pepsi (my secret sin) that I will pay for it with horrible gas and diarrhea, but occasionally do it anyway. For a while I battled it, but am now back down to my 2 a month or so. I miss the meetings at DRMC and everyone there. I tried the meetings in Portland a few times but felt really weird among all the RNYers. The issues they were having were just nothing I could relate to. I have heard that there is a post-WLS group here in Eugene, but have not yet gotten up the gumption to go (or time/energy). I used to teach 5th grade in Bakersfield. I miss it, but since it has been 3 years since I had a full time contract I have pretty much given it up. I now live in Springfield, OR and work in Eugene, OR. AFTER moving here I was told that Springfield is called SpringTucky by the Eugene people. So, apparently, I have moved the equivalent to Oildale. I work in a clinic that primarily serves homeless/indigent people. It offers a lot of services that are not generally available to those with no money or resources. I really enjoy my work and am slowly taking over the office manager position for the person who is planning on moving this summer. Regrets: 1. Not having the surgery sooner. 2. Not having the mons lift with the panniculectomy. Future Plans: 1. Get back down 20-30 lbs were I am more comfortable. 2. Have a butt/thigh/mons lift. 3. Take over the world. New Year's Resolution: fart less in OR Re: 6 years! happy 6 years. Now post all the good things that have happened since then..................and your stats so we can all say how proud we are Vicki SassyNpink@... wrote: I realized yesterday that I hit my 6 year DS anniversary on Tuesday.Wow! in OR
