Guest guest
Yum, I might have to do some osso bucco this weekend - I can only eat the sauce and marrow, but yummmmo. I get big cravings for dairy and I really cant tolerate it so I might have to follow Robs lead and take some zinc, that could be what I am lacking and why I get these sudden and very definite cravings for things. Yesterday it was sausage sizzle - I really wanted a sausage cooked on a bbq, lots of nice burnt bits and heaps of tomato sauce and crunchy onions... now the weird thing about that is I dont like sausages much, dont eat raw or crunchy onions and it would also have had to be on white bread - another cross on the list. And thanks for reminding me about the zucchini - might have to do that this week too. I am getting lazy in the cooking again, so I need to be inspired. Actually her Dad and I have been partners for a long time. (He's a young Dad and he had the girls young) Tonie tells me you two went to school together. I have not told Tonie how I know you, it case you didn't want her, or anyone knowing. Anyway, I checked out you photo's gosh you have done so well with the weight loss! Well done. Take It Easy, Fi Re: Ingrid Hiya Ingrid Yes the sleeve is permanent... but my thoughts - the band is reversible, but who would ever have it reversed? When I had my first band out I was sick as, in intensive care (so sick I didnt care that I had a sponge bath by a male nurse) and all I could think about was when would I get my band again. When I went back to see my surgeon he said there is sometimes the possibility due to adhesions that they cant put a band back in and would I be open to a sleeve. Well I was in a bit of a flap - the sleeve is "permanent" etc. But I want and need surgical intervention in my life for weight loss, no point trying to believe otherwise. There are a few sites about that show rather graphic pictures, but it's something worth considering if you had trouble with reflux. I don't know – what are the chances of having reflux with your new band? I didn't have reflux as a problem ongoing with my previous band. What is to say you don't have the same problems? IMHO, get lots of ideas – not so many that you are confused, but its at least worth the check out. For the record, when I went in for band #2 I was prepared to have a sleeve and would do so again now if I had to. I would also consider bypass if it were an option to, I just know that there has to be something there or not there as the case may be. http://www.circleof care.com. au/surgical- procedures- the-procedure. php#sleeve http://www.mercybar iatrics.com. au/tubegastrecto my.html I do like my band tight, I have no food control unless I have that hunger switched off. My fill level now is tight, has been for some time and I am going okay, I am in a maintaining stage only because its coming into summer and I need to eat more for energy so I can exercise better and be able to drink more as I dont drink (non alcoholic) fluids enough. I dont claim to get it right, I am not an expert I would never say I am one. I just know that I am doing something right for me, I am happy my surgeon is very happy with me. He said so today, I went to see him for a follow up on a endoscope I had two weeks ago. He was beaming, showed me photos of my insides (rather pretty I thought) and told me I looked fabulous - well there is one opinion that counts and I got it.
