You remind me of all I have to be grateful for. I am unaware of any decrease in immunity related to the DS. The bacteria that causes necrotizing fasciitis is a common bacteria gone wild, more or less. There but for the Grace of God go any of us. I just wash and/or sanitize my hands and try not to touch my face. I admire your positive attitude, you should be proud of yourself. Marta _____________________ Marta, The only people I have heard of with NF has been people who were in the hospital for another reason prior to contracting it. It is weird how some people get it. The boy I know of who last had it was a 17 yo who was being treated for Lymphoma. He was getting some form of chemo but they said the NF was unrelated. He had most of his leg amputated and thought they werre going to have to remove most of his lower abdominal wall but was able to conservatively treat it. This was at UAB. Another was an older lady in a Nursing home. No surgery. Buit still in a medical facility, so maybe that is the connection? Like pseudomonas or MRSA? Guest guest
Well, I haven't heard that. Prisoners have MRSA and that is probably just through exposure. They all have athletes' foot, too.
