My question is how do you get a listing in the phone book with Vonage or other. Currently we have the phone page us when busy, with vonage we would need to check the messages or forward to another phone like cell phone with paging feature. Cell phone not a low cost option either runs $100/month if unlimited calls. I envision forward phone calls to home phone at night. Looking for a workable solution. Voicemessage for urgeant calls to call cell phone # might work. Then all no urgeant calls checked several times per day. lawrence lyon <llyonmdyahoo (DOT) com> wrote: it's overhead reducing time! i currently pay about $150/month for three lines, one of which is a dedicated fax line.i'm thinking about internet telephony, and vonage appears to be the biggest.we IMPer's know that bigger is not necessarily better, so what's the verdict?vonage?some other service?why's and wherefores?inquiring minds want to know.specifically, i want to know how much a second line costs.i see that a dedicated fax line is included, any problems with that?is there rollover from line 1 to line 2 if line 1 is busy, and vice versa?does one need/can one have the internet phone interface with one's server, and for what? does it interface with onebox?does call forwarding work well? to a cell phone?any problems?any other thoughts?thanks in advance.LL Be a better friend, newshound, and know-it-all with Yahoo! Guest guest
Hi, One downside to Vonage – there is oftentimes an “echo” on the other end. I have a friend who uses Vonage. Every time I call her, there is either a significant delay, or I hear myself in an echo-back. I would stay away from Vonage for a business unless they have a better service for businesses.
