Guest guest
Mom is going through the end stuff as we speek. She contacted an URI about a week ago, and it has taken its toll. Mom is spending many many hours asleep, then well wake for few minutes or an hour or so ;drink and eat very little. The last two days I have had to request extra pain medication, and medication types that will dissolve in the mouth without the resident waking. I hope these steps will make Mom more comfortable. This is a time when one revisits the Living Will and comes to the same conclusion each time, reassures oneself they are doing as LO wishes , takes each day as it comes and stick to the request that was made, when the LO was in a sound mind. I am doing that today, easy no, but easier than standing by and watching this process of deteriation continue. Mom is down to less than 70 pounds, and she is ready for the next journey, and her family has to be ready to let her make that transition. My prayers now are that that journey is a pain free one.
