Guest guest
Well, my TSH was 0.16 and I was not even taking my medication every day, I was taking it every other day (I didn't really tell him that). I have been feeling achy in my joints so I was stoked that he was willing to RX the combination of syntheroid and armour. As you recall, in 2005 the dose I felt really good on was 250 mcg of syntheroid and 30mg of armout. This was the dose that sent my TSH down to 0.002. He did seem a bit receptive when I told him that, despite 0.002 being low TSH--the minute my meds were changed it went up to 4 within two weeks. He DID listen to that, so I think with a bit of effort he seems to be willing to work with me. He asked me if the steroids helped, and I said yes... and when I suggested Cortef he suggested Prednisone. At this point, I did not want to argue with him. I figure I can give it three months and see how I feel. I have been feeling "not quite right" on Armour alone. I remember that I felt SO much better on the combination, so I think that this plus the small dose of prednisone may help. Also, the continuous bcpills (I am praying) will keep my period away. He also listened when I said that the testosterone helped, but that i was tired of the darkening facial hair (which I have been waxing for six months). BTW--after being off testosterone after only three weeks, it fell to the very bottom of the range, and my DHEA is only 90. __________________________________________________
Guest guest
Oh, he is a reproductive endocrinologist, seems that he sees women of all ages. POF is an autoimmune disease, that is why I picked him cause he has done a lot of research on POF, Hashi's, Endometriosis, ETC. Here is his website: http://www.houstonrei.com/ I miss Dr. , but for now can't really afford the trips to Lubbock. My PCP will also rx whatever thyroid meds I am on, Armour, Cytomel, ETC. She recently put me on medrol dosepack cause I have had seven sinus infections in five months....she thought I might need to go on a regular steroid but says she did not want to prescribe it cause of state limitations etc--but to come back if I keep having problems with my sinuses. > > Well, my TSH was 0.16 and I was not even taking my medication every day, I was taking it every other day (I didn't really tell him that). Guest guest
I looked him up on the TSBME website. His board certification is from the following board: AMERICAN BOARD OF OBG/REPRODUCTIVE ENDOCRINOLGY & INFERTILITY Primary type of practice The physician reports his/her primary practice is in the area of OBSTETRICS AND GYNECOLOGY Secondary type of practice The physician reports his/her secondary practice is in the area of REPRODUCTIVE ENDOCRINOLOGY AND INFERTILITY. He is squeaky clean with regard to board actions. Prednisone sent my blood glucose through the roof. Bio-identical hydrocortisone helps bring it down.
