My son also had cronic constipation. The GI doctor put him on daily Miralax and it worked, but long term it's not a good thing. I finaly got a clue and started following the DAN protocal. Now he poops daily. Thanks to the GFCF diet, Theelac ( you can order this probiotic at ) and I always put ground Flaxseed in his pancakes or muffins, that I make. Flaxseed oil is also very good and it taste great. The whole family love my cooking. You should no longer need to use the laxative miralax, but if you have your child already using this , then I suggest you do as I did and slowly wing him off. You will not have firm poops until you get him off Miralax.
