Guest guest
Hey ! I know you hop on and off the board, so don't know if you'll see this right away. I will respond within your post - > > Sara, > > Isn't it amazing? I read your post that you were driving to Lubbock > from Dallas on the 9th and possibly driving back on the 10th. Can > you imagine saying that so lightly a couple of years ago? And you > have the energy now to meet people for coffee too! > --- Yes, I am amazed when I think back. I feel I could drive it by myself this time, but don't like to drive alone on long trips any more. Maybe I need one of those passenger dummies! *DH looks at me strangely* > My hubby and I just drove down to Lubbock a couple of weeks ago from > Wyoming and back. We just did it -- 820 miles both ways! I could > not have done that 3 years ago. Three years ago I could barely ride > from San to Killeen without crashing, that's what, 3 hours? --- Whoa! You are amazing - that's one heck of a driving marathon - I think you must hold the record for Lubbock road tripping! Yes, on my first trip out I had the seat back lowered and hugged pillows and mostly moaned the whole way. > We've come a long way, baby! I hope to post results soon. We are > still working on collecting our basal temps. I often think about > how gradually we have to heal with this disease and how long it > takes. Three years ago I did not get the Halloween decorations > out. Two years ago I got them out and last year I got them out, but > this year I got them out AND dusted them. It might not seem like > much but it's progress to me. --- (Oh, your DH goes to Dr. R, too?) You dusted the decorations??? Now THAT's scary!! Sounds like you are enjoying your meds a little tooooo much... ;-))) We don't do Halloween any more since having candies around is a terrible temptation, and the carloads of kids from outside our neighborhood got to be overwhelming. --- I'm pretty pleased at my BBTs this time. I had an average of 96.3 in Jan. '05, 96.75 in July '05, 97.0 in Feb. '06, and it's jumped to 97.7 this time. I've even had some 98's! The temps climb has really correlated with my feeling better. > > You know, your husband could practice his driving in the Lubbock > area. It's so flat I don't think he'd have a problem locating his > golf balls! Have a good trip and a good appointment, okay? --- DH was looking forward to golf, but was stricken with what looks like a " reactive arthritis " attack. He was in a great deal of pain Sunday, and has other symptoms, but is feeling better today. His doc had no clue from his blood test Wednesday, and she's leaving town, so DH is seeing her recommended doc Monday. I got DH to book an appt. with Dr. R right before mine, as I think he needs a proper work up. He's complained of being cold for a long time, his TSH has risen, he's had a rather slow heart beat for years until recently, his cholesterol and bp have been going up, he's had way too many infections, etc., etc. I'm very suspicious, but I will admit I'm prone to being suspicious having experienced this disease. --- I will look forward to reading about your results! --- btw...thanks for your post about salt in the diet awhile back. DH and I started watching the labels more, and, oh brother, were we ever ingesting a lot. We're trying to do a better job, but it's very hard. The trick is to eat nothing but fresh everything and make your own " enhancements " like spices and sauces or dressings. I've really struggled with this. But we both need to get our bp's down, and I know this salt plague in processed food is doing it. I wish I had more will power! --- Take care - Sara > >
