advice on gastrostomy food in US & Canada

Hi,

We are a British family based in Belgium.

This summer we are travelling with our family to Chicago to see Dr Dobyns

and then on to Canada (Calgary) to visit some family and have a holiday

(Rockies & Vancouver Island). My 8 year old boy Finlay has a g-tube and

receives all his nutrition this way. The food he is on here in Belgium is

called NUTRINI ENERGY MULTIFIBRE and is made by Nutricia. The company has

told me this food is not available in the US and Canada.

We have never travelled transatlantic with Finlay, so we are at a loss as to

how we will get hold of his food and what we can get? We are aware that we

should be able to travel with a small amount of his food onto the airplane,

but we obviously cannot take a supply to last us throughout the holiday.

Can anyone help by letting me know which foods are available and how and

where you buy them? Maybe it would also be interesting to know how much they

cost?
