Guest guest
YES! I do that too, and I pack a " freezer " bag or bags, the food that goes downstairs in the deep freeze. It is SO much better that way........cereal can sit outside all day long if necessary!!!! LOL ..........and do you get really dizzy taking the food from the cart and placing it on the conveyor belt? I am SO SLOW doing this process.....I know it really ticks off the people behind me, but once, I got so dizzy I just dropped to the floor, right there in line! I knew I was either going to fall or pass out if I kept up that motion......Fortunately, one of my kids was with me and finished up, then helped me back up. My middle kid met me there.. helped me shop.. and loaded it in the car. Then I timed it just right that I caught my daughter right before she went to work and she unloaded them and put them away. Wish this would happen all the time. LOL Usually I load up the stuff together that has to go in the frig, and I carry that in and the rest waits for someone else. I used to shop once a month also, but now go about once every two weeks. Less stuff to carry that way. Vickie
Guest guest
Boy would I love a delivery service. I hate grocery shopping and always have even before I got sick. I can't ever decide what I want and get tempted to buy stuff I don't need etc. If I were you I'd use the delivery service for your groceries and then schedule some sort of fun time out instead. Why spend the precious energy you have on a necessity when you could get out into the fresh air or go somewhere for a short outing or whatever. Guest guest
Hi Vickie, I ALWAYS start on a new med by trying the tiniest amount, and weaning on gradually. Minimizes trips to the ER for reactions! I explain this to the docs and they give me whatever it is in a form I can crumble, shave off, or otherwise dilute or have a tiny pinch. Sometimes we have really abnormally small dosage needs too, so what is a therapeutic dose for a “normal” is an O.D. for us. I also have anaphylactic and severe allergies, so they let me do this. Today I had my caregiver and scooter in the grocery store, and she did most of the work…sure makes a difference. That must be awful. I have to go back to the doctor tomorrow. Totally dreading it. I know he is gonna have me get another sugar test (takes 3 hours) and who knows what else. Guest guest
Hope it goes better than you think. Three hours is a long time to hang around especially when you aren't feeling well. For me I really need to be reclining and not sitting up in hard chairs so it makes it way worse. I don't know how it is with you. Hope no new meds either, seems like with such reactions your doc should be careful about changing your meds. Sandrea
Guest guest
Yeah, my mom was just telling me that yesterday. I do start off with just a piece of the pill, but still end up in the ER sometimes. I went back to the doc yesterday and ended up having to go get another sugar test. Am waiting this morning to see if He wants me to try another med or not. Hope not. Hope my numbers are all good, but bet they aren't. I gotta figure out some way to stop craving the sweet stuff. Other than that he had me do a chest xray, and we discussed trying something else for breakthrough pain. He said I had already tried everything he would offer and couldn't take it. So guess I am just screwed. Wonder what he would think if I actually did something stupid during these times when the pain is so bad I can't stand it and have nothing to take?? Guess I just don't understand how you can express your concerns to your doc and he just brushes you off. Glad you have a good trip to the store on your scooter. I have a phone number to call about one but haven't been up to dealing with it yet. They come to your house to discuss what your needs are, and right now I don't want anyone in my house. Guest guest
Hi Vickie…well I mean, not just part of a pill, but crushing it and having a pinhead’s worth! I am sooooo sensitive…A lot of docs are not good about dealing with complex pain issues, and my understanding is that actual pain clinics (which your doc would refer you to) is the best place to get real help with it. I hear you about not wanting to deal with the scooter assessors! You actually have to feel UP to have anyone over! Happy day to you too, Aylwin xox
Guest guest
Aylwin, Sounds like you are doing a good job making things accessible for both you and your dog. A fence is way too expensive for sure, but there are other options. However if you dog already has a run and wants to be with you then she might now use any other options. There is something called an X-pen which is kind of a large play area that is portable that folks erect when they go places like camping and dog shows. They come in different sizes. I don't know the largest size available or the cost but that might be something to consider. Also, you could just get some chicken wire and have someone string it up for you. As long as you are watching your dog and she is not likely to dig under or anything, you could set up a nice area for her and it is relatively cheap and can be taken down and moved. You can stake it into the ground easily with wooden sticks as tall as the wire rather than using big poles and cementing them in.
