Guest guest
If I had to see a local doc for my endocrine stuff, I would see Mahoney in Southlake or Gonino in Rowlett. If you do not have adrenal issues, Launius is good, too. I make the trip to Lubbock to see . Have been doing so since 2001. Recommend him most highly, especially for folks who are not getting the help they need elsewhere. Our list is in "Files." You will note that Grebennikov is no longer on it. "Addicted to Armour"? It appears that Dr. G has become one more cranio-rectal specialist. . . . moonlady0000 wrote: Hi--I've been seeing Dr Grebennikov for 3 or so years now. I know he has never been a favorite here. He will prescribe Armour, was, repeat, was attentive to my symptoms, and used to use the Free T3 and T4 tests, was conveient from me to visit, and my ins paid. The last few times he has checked my thyroid he has used the old panel of tests, and has had his nurse call to say the tests are in "normal" range. Well that's not good enough for me, particularly since my TSH is going up and my thyroid hormones are going going down. He also said I am addicted to Armour. I really hate the thought of looking for another doc as he is doc number 9 or 10 in this thyroid mess, but I'm thinking I have no choice. It dawned on me that the fatigue and confusion are getting a little worse again, and the edema...well I could be a stand in for the Stay-Puft marshmallow. If I have to, I'll make an appointment and argue with him, but that's not how I want to handle my medical care. Seems like since he moved to a bigger office and started keeping a more regular schedule (no more 3 hour waits) he has joined the ranks of the typical American doctor.I've been on this roller coaster for 11 years now, and I am beginning to think I should just give up on trying to feel normal.I'm in far north Dallas and would like recommendations for a doc that is not too terribly far away. Although, I am willing to drive if there is someone who is open minded, has helped several people, and prescribes Armour.Just for grins...here's my latest lab. I don't think it looks so great. Guest guest
" Addicted???? " That's one of the weirdest doc pontifications yet! Get thee to a new doc!! Your symptoms are indicating you need more meds, IMO. Your Ts (Free, right?) are not even mid-range and your T3 is almost into the bottom 25% of the range. A lot of folks have to be at least mid-range, or at the top of the range to feel good. Some have to be over range. We're all different. I think folks are currently reporting Dr. Gonnino (sp?) in Rowlett is doing a good job. Sara > > Hi-- > > I've been seeing Dr Grebennikov for 3 or so years now. Guest guest
Thanks, Jan. I don't know if I have adrenal issues. I do know that I have hormone issues and nobody has come close to understanding them. I also know that I have not be optimized on thyroid meds for many years. In another lifetime (or so it seems) I was doing well on synthroid, but got taken off it. I know what it feels like to feel healthy and energetic, and have not been able to get back to that ever since the idiot took me off synthroid. I looked at Gonino's website. Not sure if I'm getting a warm fuzzy about him, but I saw some positive posts here. Yes, I did notice that Grebennikov was removed from the doc list. I would suppose you were getting other reports like mine. Do you think my lab looks as bad as I do? Cranio-rectal......priceless! Best laugh I've had this week. > Hi-- > > I've been seeing Dr Grebennikov for 3 or so years now. I know he has > never been a favorite here. Guest guest
Sara-- No, the labs weren't the " free " hormones. He used to use the free tests, and changed his thinking or something. I'm not interested in wasting my time to find out why. I mentioned the mid to top range thing to him a while back, and he told me I was spending too much time on the internet. > > > > Hi-- > > > > I've been seeing Dr Grebennikov for 3 or so years now. Guest guest
That sounds very similar to my former doc saying "You're focusing too much on your thyroid." Guest guest
I think we need a new folder - " Favorite doc pontifications just before you fired them. Guest guest
What a hoot! As of today, I have fired about 9 docs, I have many phrases to contribute LOL > > > > > > That sounds very similar to my former doc saying " You're focusing too > > much on your thyroid. Guest guest
I agree. Good for the board to get as much info flowing as possible on all docs and experiences. Benefits everyone to keep learning what is available, where, and costs. - Sara > > > > I'll keep everyone who is interested posted about my progress with Dr. > > Gonino.
