Guest guest
I suppose I must be the oddity (Marta, keep your mouth SHUT, you too Jo). I am 3.8 years out to the date, and I am still dropping the pounds. However, I am the guy who gains 25 pounds overnight and it takes a week or two to get rid of. However, that taken into account, when I drop those pounds, I drop more pouts with them do I'm getting closer to the weight of 200 lbs. Guest guest
Come on Mel, you have to admit, it may be saggy, but there is a lot less of you. Just get it a little looser. It won't hang over then. Of course you have a husband, so you may feel a little more aware of all the loose skin. And I am a lot older. I am 67, so I expect it, but I don't care. I am just so glad to finallly be able to wear sexy things. Just for me. Those old white binders don't make you feel good about yourself. I know I don't at least. I love to kid my 14 year old granddaughter than I am going to get teen titties too. She thinks that is soo funny. She also thinks her grandma is a little bonkers I think at times. She got so excited seeing my new black, pink and blue bras. She loved them. It is just for me, but this whole surgery has just been for me. It has given me my health back. I am not on oxygen, CPAP, off 14 of 17 meds, I do not have to use a wheelchair or an electric cart in the stores, so I am a new person. It has given me back a life and I am making the most of it. Now I am going back to bed. I sometimes wake up in the middle of the night. I have a hand that is messed up, and the pain gets me up. Working on that. Time to go back to bed. I know Mel that you are glad you had the surgery and what a difference it has made in your life. Just like we all do. Pearl
Guest guest
Mel I know what you mean about Dr. K. He always seems so proud of me. He tells me he is proud of the fact that I have done what he has told me to do, and when he asks what I eat, I tell the truth, which is what ever I want. He says that is what he wants me to do. He does not want me to diet. I have not lost as much as you. Last time I weighed I was still down 115. I have only lost 4 pds. this year, but that is okay with me. That is better than a gain. I know I should/could lose more, but I am okay with me. My health is good, and that is what I was aiming for, not a size number. Heck when I read about people being a size four I was that when I was two years old. I was a 12 1/2 pd baby, so I didn't even get to be a little baby. LOL. I am glad you got to come see some of our " famous " sunshiney days and got to swim in Martas pool. I bet it was warm. I know my pool was at that time.It of course has cooled off. I hope to get my inground pool in next year. This year just as they were fixing to start digging my oldest daughter had to have open heart surgery, so that became my priorty. Things just have not gone according to Hoyle this year. Just when I thought I was going to one thing, it threw a screw in the mix and I had to do something else. Heck even last night I was going to mow the lawn, got the weedeating done, anyway ended up the battery on my riding mower was low, so I went to clean the terminals off, decided with all the hot weather it probably needed water, which it did. So then I went to charge it up good, the battery slipped and all )(( & & broke loose. Battery cables burned up when they touched a piece of metal as the battery slipped. It all happened so fast. It scared the heck out of me. I could just see, as the sparks were flying and blue smoke was pouring out, it all setting the gas tank on fire, and my car was witihin a few feet, setting it on fire, which was in my garage. In seconds things could have really gone up. Scared the bejesus out of me. Luckily my brother is coming up to fix it for me tomorrow. What a mess. All I wanted to do was get the work done around here.See how things have gone wrong lately around here. I am sure we all have days, weeks, months, heck even years when things go like that. So enjoy your family. So you don't have to enjoy the housework. Do we ever? Pearl
Guest guest
Pearl, I was really lucky we had sold pups so I was able to do this. We have been in a bind for a few years. we filed Bankruptcy after the car wreck and we almost lost all we had and then we came home from a medical proceedure last year to find the for sale sign in our front yard in our rental house so suddenly had to move 6 months ago. I was miserable until we found the house we had now! So we had the financial strain of moving twice in 6 months. Good news though, I found my BK will fall off in the next 2 yrs, and I am slowly building my credit up. The bK falling off will do wonders for my credit and maybe we will be able to buy our house soon enough.(crossing fingers) I don't know if we will ever be able to do a built in pool where we live. We are on a septic system so it may be a no-no. Most people in our area have the high end above ground pools and nice decks around them. I bet they pay a small fortune on them. Maybe if we buy we can finance a little over and have a nice pool one day? Maybe...... Mel Re: Mel Mel I know what you mean about Dr. K. He always seems so proud of me. Guest guest
Hey - One wise daughter once told me that I expect too much, thus setting myself up for disappointment every time. Maybe this is what has happened to you. No use to dwell on it. Set it aside and get on with your very useful, worthwhile life. You are certainly needed as a wife and mother and you need to learn value your own worth. From my experience, most spouses tend to disappoint. Guess they don't watch enuf of those insightful TV shows that clue them in! We love you and know that tomorrow will be a better day. Bobbe in Paso Robles. 10-19 yrs old=152. Guest guest
I still havent seem Mamma Mia, might have to see if I can snaffle it off someone on DVD. I am sure there are copies of it floating around out there. Speaking of, did you end up watching that Oliver DVD that Rob made for us? It is brilliant. I need to watch it every morning, that would keep me on the straight and narrow for sure.

Guest guest
Hi Mel, Steve took some pics yesterday of lunch and the girls swapping, so will get them up on site as soon as I feel up to it.. I only made it half a day at work. The boss saw that I was crying and brought me home! I have had this now for 4 weeks, and although I have improved dramatically I guage it by can I or cant I go to the gym. The answer is no, so it was really really bad to start and now just really bad! But luckily, hanging in there on the scales side of things. I cant believe how careful you have to be when you dont excercise 5+ hours per week. We eat such small portions and you can still put on weight! The scales say you havent put on, but all the toning I got from lifting weights wont take long to disappear. off to the microwave to reheat wheat pillow... Rest rest rest with foot elevated?...Ali xx To: SydBand From: mels.mania@...Date: Mon, 16 Mar 2009 01:41:12 +0000Subject: Re: Reply by Ali & how are you today Mel? > Ali... I am sure they will take me back in without having to pay again as I was just there yesterday. The pain is shocking and there is definately something major wrong. No breaks of course, but obviously tendon and ligament damage. I am about to hit the bed with a Mersyndol and some ice... my foot looks like a big fat sausage. Bloody hell.
