The few times that we had planned did not give me enough time to get

time off from my work.

I'd love to meet up with anyone, but need a little time to be able

to schedule.

I have the summers off, so could meet pretty much anytime.

Well this job I'm starting tomorrow will leave my Fridays free at least; so let's start at least thinking about a Houston-area members get-together sometime & somewhere. Maybe we'll have to divide it into West Houston, East Houston, and so forth; since the more people there are the harder it will be to find one day/time when we can all meet (though not impossible, since "where there's a will there's a way" has always proved true). I don't know how many Houston-area members there are. ~Chelle>> The few times that we had planned did not give me enough time to get > time off from my work.> I'd love to meet up with anyone, but need a little time to be able> to schedule.> I have the summers off, so could meet pretty much anytime.> Lynn>

I live in SW Houston, and am willing to go just about anywhere.

I can't remember who had the few meetings in SE Houston? Maybe they

have some recommendations?

Maybe anyone else that would like to get together? Maybe somewhere

downtown, or near there?

I really would like to meet, though.

I'm also in SW Houston, but I haven't been out of my neighborhood by myself in a long time. Until I feel a lot better I just don't feel comfortable venturing too far.

It is best not to even try to find the right date for everyone. Pick a date, time and location that works for your and two other people. Then announce it. The Seattle group has all of their meetings on either a Saturday afternoon or a Sunday afternoon almost every month. They give folks about three choices and then do a poll on the WA site. Oh, Lynn, that's very sweet of you. I was just thinking we might have to have as many as four groups as big as this place is. SW Houston itself is plenty of area, there's Alief SW and close to the Loop SW (that's me) and that's as big as some towns are!

Thanks,

Carol

There are some folks for whom day and time are more important than distance. carol77096 wrote: Oh, Lynn, that's very sweet of you. I'm in West Houston... " just down the block " from

Chelle. I work 5 days a week, and have three evenings

occupied.. If we travel to SW or SE Houston...Sat

would be best for me.

Most Friday's are free for me(August 11 and 18th are out of the

question). I'm in Mo City, near Stafford and not too far from the western

side of Pearland.

That's a great suggestion, Jan. I also think that we may have to split it up into 2 or 4 groups -- either East and West, North and South, or one meeting for each of the four directions. I have no idea how many Houston-area members there are, other than the regular posters, so a poll might just be the thing to bring some members out of hiding. ~Chelle>> It is best not to even try to find the right date for everyone. I don't mind the drive too much, just give me some lead time and an

address. I can get directions from Mapquest.

Anyplace with great single men is always welcome, but I don't hold my

breath on that one.

Single men? Wow, that is interesting. Don't they only appear after

dark? LOL. I will probably not join you all because I have trouble

driving. I've been optimized a year or more and I am just now getting

back on the road with some confidence. The west side is just too far

away given my condition. It would be great if someone gave a summary of

the meeting for those of us who can't drive that far.
