Guest guest
Hi and , my Dad went from Alzheimer's last year too. He fell several times with the balance problems and got subdural hematomae which speeded things up a bit I think. He was totally gone before he went though, and I was glad to see him free. I had the great privilege (through nursing my Mum through 2 broken hips etc and he his diagnosis and descent) to get to know him in a whole new way, and really love him for the first time (he was a very angry, driven man in earlier years). The last time I saw him he beamed at my daughter and I repeatedly even though no one else had had a response from him in months. I definitely relapsed then, both because of the physical toll of trying to look after them, and the snakey family dynamics, but not from him dying particularly.
