Guest guest
Congratulations Carol! I couldn't be happier for you and your family. I bet Jasmine is beautiful. How nice of you to help your daughter out by taking the other children to school. That's a huge help to your daughter I'm quite sure. Take care and enjoy that new little life! Blessings, Bonnie Subject: ALL GOES WELL To: polymicrogyria Date: Tuesday, July 13, 2010, 8:18 AM  Greeting from OZ. Hi all everything has settled for me and I have a beautiful new Grand Daughter. Jasmine Louise. Torin loves his sister and he pats her. A bit hard really but he is not able to judge that. Baby only goes in a swing so he can not fall on her so all ia going well. We are going to get her hearing tested in a few days which was the first indication that Torin had problems. We are not worried really as Torin is a CMV baby. I go down to my daughter's at 7.30 each morning to help getting kids dressed and fed and then take them to school to allow her to have quiet baby time. We now wait for things to settle into a normal routine. As if things ever do. So look after all your special people and give them all a Grandma hug. Grandma Carol Torin 4. PMG, Deaf, Hemi, and assorted other things, but my beautiful little redhead can now use about 20 signs, so exciting.
Guest guest
Hi Carol. If your daughter ever needs a reminder of just how lucky she is, send her my way. What I wouldn't give to have a grandmother like you for my kids. Not that my parents dont love my kids and spend time with them when they're here(or we're there), but they live in Florida, 2000 miles away from us here in NJ. They moved when my daughter was 2 and my mom says things like " If you had first, we never would have moved " . I try to be understanding and know that they deserve a happy and fufilled retirement, but sometimes it bothers me that they are kind of selfish and put their friends and traveling before their children and grandchildren. Especially since I grew up with a grandmother who helped my mother more than she's ever helped me. My sisters and I lived with my grandparents during the weekdays every summer when we were little while my parents worked(which ok yeah, they were working, but it gave them every evening free). They watched us so my parents could get away by themselves for a few days so many times. will be 9 this summer and we've never been able to get away for more than a few hours since the day he was born (even that is getting less frequent as he gets bigger and heavier). My mother-in-law is no help either, she likes to look at them from time to time, but she has never been the type to attempt to play with them or watch them. I want to be the kind of Grandmother mine was when my daughter has kids and just wanted to say how much I admire you and how very lucky your daughter is... ok done feeling sorry for my self now... Guest guest
OH smom I am sorry we are not closer as I would love to help you as well. We have a close family and all my kids are similar. They are all learning to sign and my son is teaching their 2 year old to sign so Torin will not ever be left out. Torin has about 20 signs now and is such fun. Just when he is being naughty he put his hand on my arm and bats his eyes, then gets away with murder. When ever I get depressed about his roblems I just think how good he is and it could have been so much worse. God knows I love him. I suppose we are not a average family in the caring area as we take in stray people and help when needed. It always costs a bit but what can you do when someone who you don't really know comes up at school and asks if you would have their child for 3 nights as they have to go to hospital and they have no one to help. She said you have happy children and may be willing to help. Of course we were. My eldest got married and took on a terminal father inlaw and nursed him till he died. I said Ruth that is too hard and she said that you would Mum so how could I not. I suppose I should say that they all own their own homes by buying cheap and rundown and doing them up. They all have college degrees and my youngest is even Gold Medal Olympian in Feild Hockey. I am so proud of them all, and I know we are not typical but how much easier it would be if more families could be as close. I have been a single mum for many years and they even look after their Father despite all the problems in the past. To all of you sreuggling with little help please accept my love and hpe things become easier for you. Grandma carol, Torin, PMG, Deaf, Hemi, plus a few other things, but still my beautiful redhaired boy. By the way I got him short haircut and the red hair gleames in the sun like a light so funny. > > > > Greeting from OZ. > > > > Hi all everything has settled for me and I have a beautiful new Grand Daughter.
