Guest guest
The Paso meeting, while small, was very informative tonight. We also had newbies who are looking forward to the DS soon. Dr K spoke about depression in relation to Serotonin reuptake and how helpful it is in our case to increase the doseage (Serotonin deficit). Take an SSRI to aid the depression post-op. He also explained how our organs droop as do our arms, breasts and panni. Thus we can develop problems like the colon getting a twist that makes us feel like we need a BM 30 min. after having a BM, but only having the actual BM every 3 days. Did you know that Ghewlin precedes our perceived appetite? If it spikes, we feel hungry until 1/2 hr laer (during the year following the DS). He was very clear in explaining our need for lifetime supplementation of calcium AND its relation to our PTH levels... which explained to me why my PCP says it looks normal to him, and Dr K says it shows I am lacking (in calcium or Vit.D). He reiterated that we cannot overdo our calcium. Wish I'd been there to see Randy... and to visit . Tis always something, Edith tells me! Guest guest
Bobbe, I agree, the meeting was very good.. especially since I am dealing with all of those very issues (Valley Fever, Kidney Stones, Hyperparathyroidism, Low Vitamin b12, Depression, Extreme Fatigue, Anemia, and Low Vitamin A) at this time.. Dr. K was extremely consciencence about giving me very good information and advice.. I feel so much better about everything now .. not to mention I have my 3 yr appt with Dr. Z next week.. I'm sure we'll discuss more treat ment options. And Bobbe, I have to thank you so much for treating me to dinner.. it was good food and good company.. maybe next month we can convince a few of the others to attend with us like the good old days!! until next time.. take care.. Guest guest
How did the meeting go? Was Dr. K there? What was the subject that was discussed? How many showed up at s, for the meeting and at Woolgrowers? Who was the surprise that Sharon wouldn't tell about? I am sure I am not the only one that wasn't there that wants to know all about it. I just couldn't make the meeting. Pearl

**************************************
AOL now offers free email to everyone. Find out more about what's free from AOL at http://www.aol.com.
