Guest guest
whether you can take this whole " THE WORK " thing too far :} I've read the book (twice) and I love the idea that you can perform surgery on your negative thoughts and fears. And I think it works very nicely thank you. But then I joined this group!! My perception is that you guys are inquiring to death! *****That you see no usefulness in 'inquiring to death' is a statement about your perception. Cool. There is no quarrel here with that stand. But is there an assumption that 'inquiring to death' is of no benefit to some others? I just don't know which posts to read first there is just so much work involved (pun intended!). *****Sure you do ! :-)) Whichever one you read first is the one you need to read first. And skip all the fluff if you are so inclined. ;-))) You can always unjoin if you desire another environment. Is it just me (sorry, I know we are all part of one big Thang but it helps me to think straight!) *****Of course it's just you ! Who else is having 'your' thoughts? If they cause you no distress, enjoy them! If they arise within upset, you always have The Work. ~andy
Guest guest
Andy Thanks for the response - it made me think about things...and that's a good thing. I suppose my point is that everything we say can be put through the inquiry process and I can see how utterly fantastic that is for those things that bother us in some way I find it hard to hear it when it's applied to everything. It seems too intellectual a process for me really. Maybe what I'm trying to say is if there is anyone out there that is systematically applying the inquiry process maybe it would be cool if they went back to the basic premise of the process - that it can make us free and give us bliss. And my perception is that maybe the way to appreciate it most is by doing it on those thoughts only that need surgery. Or something!
