Guest guest
Hi folks, Most of you would know that I had my band out on Wednesday, as it has not worked for me, I've had awful reflux (even with no fill) and am now weighing up my options as to what surgery to have once I've healed. I was expecting this to be an easy operation to recover from, but I have to say, for me, it's not been that way. I was really bouncy and lively on Wednesday evening when I got home (pain killers), but Thursday, and then yesterday, no way. I was even contemplating going to casualty at St (because I know Dr T is a St physician), but thought I'd wait until today, but I'm home alone with the kids so will have to wait until 8pm when Jon gets back from work. I still feel like I've been backed over by a Mack truck with pain (as bad as my first banding) but without too much detail, there's been very gusty winds coming from this house, which have helped a bit below the belly button, but not around my stomach. I just have awful thoughts of necrosis or twisted / herniated bits, but I seem to be getting fluids and a few semi-solids, so maybe I'm being a hypochondriac (again!) Did it hurt this much for anyone else out there who's had the band removal as a stand-alone op? I wasn't expecting it to be this bad, I thought I'd just be a bit ouchy, but OK, not feeling like he's played hockey with my innards at day 3! I have to go back to work on Monday. Guest guest
Hey Elaine, Seeing as you said so, I'll abstain from all but the most necessary things- Dr Elaine's orders. I think you might be right about the gas, I've never had this before. It's more painful than the wounds themselves! I don't know whether de-gas is what I need, I'd rather let it run its course than suppress it. I've got a pregnancy belly band which I've got on, to give my tummy more support, which is helping when I sit down. Thanks for getting back to me. Guest guest
Sounds as if you have some trapped gas but of course it would be a good idea to see your Dr if not for anything but to put your mind at rest.Don't do too much around the house, it was still a major op!!!ElaineHi folks,Most of you would know that I had my band out on Wednesday, as it has not worked for me, I've had awful reflux (even with no fill) and am now weighing up my options as to what surgery to have once I've healed.
