Guest guest
Faye, It would be interesting to read that website you found. Do you have any idea where the site is? My nail ridges aren't black and my ferritin was at about 163. I've noticed that when I was feeling my worst, I had no moons on my nails. My moons have started to come back except on my ring fingers and they are all very small except on my thumbs. Weird but I feel that these are definate symptoms of something but who knows what. Thanks for everyone's imput. Dana > > > > Does anyone know if these ugly nail ridges are caused by my > > hypothyroidism? Guest guest
I had a nail that split all the time, vertically. A friend who is into herbal solutions told me that it was probably an iron deficiency. Sure enough, my lab showed I was on the very lowest end of the range for iron. I took an iron supplement (mid-day, so it won't bind any of my other drugs) and in about seven-eight weeks, the split finally grew out. I am also getting moons back on my nails, which have been absent for years. Marti > >>> >>> Does anyone know if these ugly nail ridges are caused by my >>> hypothyroidism? Guest guest
I had to look at my nails after all the discussion about them. My left hand only has a moon on the thumb. I am left-handed. ???? My right hand has moons on all the fingers except pinky. I do have ridges in my nails on both hands and feet. I did find this nail website. Take a look at some weird things that can happen!! I will never get acrylic nails again. Yikes!!! http://www.hooked-on-nails.com/naildisorders.html Deborah Yahoo! Messenger with Voice.
