Guest guest
Hello all, I sent Dr. Dobyns Gage's MRI and medical records last week and he called me this morning to discuss his findings. He told me that he does not feel that Gage has PMG and that the MRI resolution was not clear enough to determine that. He told me that he has a very rare abnormality of the brain stem, but did not give me a name for it. He said that he has only written one paper on it, but Gage doesn't exactly match the subjects that he did research on. He recommemded getting another MRI at Texas Children's Hospital and seeing Dr. again (he has done some research with Dr. Dobyns and was the one who diagnosed Gage with PMG). He said that he agreed with having a smaller than normal corpus collosum and large ventricals and a very small ventral pons, but not PMG. Now I am more confused after thinking we had found an answer (PMG). I guess that the poor resolution on the cortex made it look like PMG? In several areas? I trust Dr. Dobyns, I just now wonder, what now? Hopefully in a few months we can get an answer. We waited 11 months to get the wrong answer, and now we are starting all over. I want to thank this group for telling me about Dr. Dobyns. Hopefully, we will get a correct diagnosis in the near future. and Gage,
