Would a trip to Dr. Lanius be beneficial?

I have suspected that my DH has been Hypo for 4-5 yrs. He was

diagianosed with Sleep Abnea at that time but even with treatment for

that he cannot get himself to go to work before 10:30-11:00 every day.

Thank goodness he is self employed but his business is suffering big

time. He was tested at that time (TSH) was 1.9 Dr. said he was fine.

Since I have been diagianosed severly hypo with a TSH of 1.88 I have

been reading, learning , learning.

He went in this week for his yearly physical & I sent a list of tests

to be run on him. Free T3 & Free T4, Dhea, ferritin,a few others. I

even tried to get him tested for his adrenals.

Well guess what? The Dr only tested his TSH. Said that is all they

ever test & pronounced him normal, TSH was 1.2. I blew a fuse &

called the office insisting that they at least test Free T3 & 4.

They faxed over the results this morning. Suprise! No test for Free

T3. These were the results that I got.

Tsh 1.2

Thyroxine (T4) 5.1 (4.5-12.0)

T3 uptake 38 (24-39)

Free Thyroxine 1.9 (1.2-4.9)

He has so very many symptoms that it is not even worth trying to list

all of them.

Do you think that I should make an Appointment with Dr. Lanius in

ville. We have no Ins. & with my recent Dr bills & his this week

we really do not have a lot left to spend on Drs right now. However we

just live a few miles from ville & if it could help anything

would be worth it.

BTW, my TSH was 1.8 but my Free T4 was just .9 with the same range.

The same Dr office RX me as hypo. Go figure.
