Guest guest
, Gait Therapy: It is functional electrical stimulation. I place electrodes on the muscle that is weak and need awareness and stimulate it with a button while she weight bears. I chase her 20 min once or twice a week. Gluts for balance gastrocs for foot drop and lat hamstring for heal strike. OT kinesio tape bicept where her tone is (tone make muscles weak) and put a functional piece around her hand and one that starts at the wrist and around her arm to pull away from the tone. Then she is involved with nice weighted activities: scooter board, pushing wheelbarrow, or lawn mower, hose pressure spraying or in the shower, crawling in the tunnel, gymnastics. I find anything heavy really helps in general for attention and calmness: large nuts on a pencil, weighted blanket or lap pad, punching bag and small weights.Never forget the importance of daily stretching, pulling, massaging and rolling them up like hot dogs! I try to believe it is a lifestyle not just therapy.Diane _________________________________________________________________ The New Busy is not the old busy.
