Guest guest
My daughter is 3 1/2. She didn't say mama until she was almost 3. Her lower jaw is smaller than her top so she intonates a lot against her top teeth. We had issues with tone and muscles; her tongue not working properly. Speech helps a lot with strengthening but a lot of it is nueral in my opinion. She signs mostly. I can understand her much of the time but i'm her mom. She can approximate a lot of consonants but only about a third of them, and one or two vowels. Despite that her approximations are amazing and sometimes a word weill slip out and she doesn't realize she did it or how she said it. You should probably have her evaluated.Speech therapy is what has helped her the most and we've only been doing it for a year. I say start her on sign. Kids are amazing what they can learn!!!
