Guest guest
Actually, I would just thank her warmly and tell her a) that endo is not on your insurance or you only go to endos/MDs recommended by this list and get her on the list. She might not think her endo so wonderful if she sees other people spitting and crosseyed over being undermedicated. Guest guest
Me too! ROFLMAO! I know ya'll would find this hard to believe, but I just got slapped on the electronic hand for talking about how bad Endo's were on the Psoriatic Arthritis list. It's too bad that the list owner thinks Armour is a OTC drug and that I am against drugs. Oh well! Guest guest
Believe me, I had to hold back. Flipness is second nature to me, but I wanted to be nice. Besides I'm going to Lubbock tomorrow and she knows it, so, you know, in her mind, if I can go there I can go to her endo. You just know she's thinking: Lubbock??? Guest guest
Actually, Lubbock has two Universities (Texas Tech; Lubbock Christian University) which produce a LOT of medical graduates. I know LCU is highly rated - talk to Sharon at Dr R's. You can put your nose in the air about 'going to Lubbock' for medical treatment. Guest guest
I just can't picture her here...she's very dedicated to her endo. It's like Red state/Blue state or insert your favorite polar opposites. Thanks, Carol P.S. Guest guest
Hey, I'm on board with Doc R. Many people, used to be me too, are not aware there's anything but the treatment we all got for years. It was a stretch for me, I live in Houston, ten minutes away from the "Texas Medical Center" where you'd think there'd be a decent thyroid doc or two, wouldn't you? Sorry, I'm not insulting anybody's beloved Doc, but if anybody's found the equivalent of Doc R. here, they're not sharing. My friend formerly lived in the Dallas area. She's now moved back to our home country, Oklahoma. :-) Thanks, Carol Rolling on> > > floor laughing my a** off.> > >>> > >>> From: Texas_Thyroid_Groups <Texas_Thyroid_Groups%40yahoogroups.com>[mailto:> > >>> Texas_Thyroid_Groups <Texas_Thyroid_Groups%40yahoogroups.com>]> > On Behalf Of Theresa Brewton> > >>>> > >>> ROFLMAO?> >> > > >>
Guest guest
Actually a lot of folks besides thyroid patients go to Lubbock for medical treatment. My podiatrist mentioned that to me. It's like medicine is the main industry there. He was curious as to whom I was seeing and why.Theresa Brewton wrote: Actually, Lubbock has two Universities (Texas Tech; Lubbock Christian University) which produce a LOT of medical graduates. Guest guest
My mother-in-law doesn’t think I tried enough doctors. “There HAS to be an endocrinologist in Dallas…it’s DALLAS! I mean we have a good one here in Tyler…you could see if you could see him…he’s done wonders for (daughter-in-law).” Hmm. Yeah. Nope. Sorry. Hehehe…She doesn’t understand… I guess I wasn’t sick enough on the outside for them to see how important it was for me to get GREAT help in Lubbock. None of them know I have been seeing a counselor since last year, but they do know about my various other issues (neck, feet, tired, crabby, eyes swelling…). I’ve thought about playing the “chance of possible infertility” card just to shut them up . I don’t want you guys to think they’re total unsupportive monsters…but I sort of let them evolve into that (in my mind.). I think it has a lot to do with my family being 12 hours away…sometimes, it’s like there’s no one in MY corner. Carol, I hope that these responses help your friend to (lovingly) back off. I don’t have much tact, myself…so I know I’d put someone off. After speaking to a few ppl about the importance of thyroid health, I’ve sort of had to accept the fact that I can’t change them and hope that they don’t get to rock bottom before they realize they need to listen to their bodies. For awhile, I felt like the symptom police or something!!! At least I have a coworker who gets it (She’s got Grave’s and is w/o her thyroid). She does see an endo, though…(goes to find notebook) Raphaele Vallera is her name. She’s taking Synthroid (100 mcg, I believe) but is going to ask about Armour. I sort of want to see what the doc says to it. As far as I can tell, she’s pleased with this doc (another tried to tell her she had lymphoma!!!!). I’ll let you know what happens (unless you guys already know of this doc). Hey, thanks for everything. I really don’t know the ins and outs of Yahoo Groups, as I’m used to message boards, but I hope that I haven’t done anything to upset anyone or put anyone off. Personally, I’ve had a good past couple of days but I’m in a mood where something will tick me off shortly. I feel like a timebomb. Then again, I started my period Sunday and I’ve cramped all day…so…yeah. . SHE’S GONNA BLOW!! Hahahahahaha…not. Ack. Having a hot flash (happens when I’m on the computer..too much heat over here). Must go! Have a great hump day everyone!! -- No virus found in this outgoing message. Checked by AVG Free Edition. Guest guest
There is a very well-known and respected massage therapist who relocated to Lubbock. She is one of the few (from what I understand) who practices trigger point therapy. > > Actually a lot of folks besides thyroid patients go to Lubbock for medical treatment. > > My podiatrist mentioned that to me.
