We want more but I am nervous about having another child with pmg or worse. Have any of you had a baby after your PMG kiddo and if so were they born with/without pmg? How did you manage both? Guest guest
We had a typical boy first and then came Finlay. We have no idea what caused his pmg. We waited 5 years to have our third, who is a perfectly healthy girl. Finlay adores his baby sister (now nearly 5) and signs " baby " for her (one of the few signs he uses) She will still be " baby " when she is all grown up!! She redressed the balance in the family. Finlay still takes most of the attention and focus, but he has had to learn to share mum because of the baby and that has been a good thing. It was hard work for a while, as Finlay is a very bad sleeper, but for us it was definitely worth the worries and work. Guest guest
I just wanted to share my agreement. I have recently had a healthy beautiful little boy, now 4 months old. We waited 3 years after having our daughter Scarlett who is profoundly affected by PMG with epilepsy and visual impairment. I also have a healthy 7 year old son too. We had genetic counseling before and several MRI scans during pregnancy which relieved our worries. It is really hard work but I am so glad we had another child. It does help redress the balance and bring more joy to the family.  Good luck Louise   Subject: RE: 2nd Baby To: polymicrogyria Date: Monday, 13 December, 2010, 14:08  We had a typical boy first and then came Finlay. Guest guest
I had my typical child first and then my PMG child second. He has bilateral perisylvan polymicrogyria. I was willing to have another child but financial reasons and my husband not on board made us decide to have no more children. My husband also has a daughter from his relationship when he was in highschool. She is 18 and a typical child as well.  Mom to Evan 6yrs, left hemiplegia cerebral palsy, seizures, developmental delays, mostly non verbal & 9 1/2 nda ________________________________ To: polymicrogyria Sent: Fri, December 10, 2010 5:28:19 PM Subject: 2nd Baby  My husband and I are considering having another baby. Our son is 2 1/2 y.o. with pmg, unilateral perisylvian syndrome and epilepsy. We want more but I am nervous about having another child with pmg or worse. Have any of you had a baby after your PMG kiddo and if so were they born with/without pmg? How did you manage both? Stacey
