I am pretty sure there is an allowance for women who didn't work but who were married to be able to collect under their husband's benefits. I guess the best thing to do is contact an attorney. From what I understand if you want to collect benefits it is best to have an attorney to work through all of the red tape for you. Is that what most of you did who are collecting?
