Guest guest
If you're having such bad reactions to a small dose of armour, it might be that you need to test your adrenal glands. I get mine thru www.canaryclub.org. They have a great pkg for $141.00 and you'll get the 4x per day saliva test for adrenals, TSH, Free T3, Free T4, Progesterone, Estrogen, Tostesterone and Dhea. Another thought is that you might be allergic to one of the fillers in the armour and your dr can have it made special for you at a compounding pharmacy. Hang in there and we will figure this out. Sue ? I am taking Armour, compounded from W I Pharmacy. I started at 2x 1/8th grain a day. I am now at 1/4th grain in the am and 1/6th grain in the pm. With that I still have hypo symptoms. Guest guest
I also noticed that your TSH is too high. If you're taking armour, it should be near 0. Sue > Here are my last labs, August 06 TSH 6.671 range 0.490-4.670 FT3 4.52 2.23-5.35 73.40% in range FT4 10.02 9.14-23.81 6% Is it possible that my FT3 has reached max and that when I go up on > Armour I am sick because of too much T3 ? > I wanted to try to add some Unithroid to my Armour but I don't think > my doc likes that. > > I would apreciate all of you coment and sugestions like always. Guest guest
I want to thank all of you for suggestions and help. Jan, I will send a fax to Dr R. that's a good idea. It's been less then couple of weeks since my tiny increase of Armour, but I feel different and I am not sure if this is something that I need to go through or should I be worried. I get sudden weakens, especially in my legs, and I need to lie down. My whole body feels in slow motion. Would that be adrenals? I don't get fast hear rate but I feel rush and some inner tremor. Thanks Sue! My Armour is from compounded pharmacy so I guess it's not allergy. I've been taking it since February, gradually tying to increase it. In April my TSH was 0.9, then it went up to 11.3 in June, and now is at 6.6 on the same dose of Armour. I had saliva test for adrenals, ACTH and cortisol AM. My adrenals may need some support, but since I have hard time tolerating whatever I put in my mouth, including vitamins or iron, my doctor thinks I should not take anything for adrenals at this time. I tried DHEA and I couldn't tolerate. Thanks, Nevenka
Guest guest
I don't have a clue what is going on. Your problems could be adrenal, however. I would ask to try a tiny (1 mg or less) dose of hydrocortisone, maybe as a topical cream rather than a capsule.stitnjaca1 wrote: I want to thank all of you for suggestions and help. Guest guest
Um.... inner tremble sounds like low adrenals. I have heard two things, that too much t3 can stress the adrenals AND that not enough thyroid hormone will stress the adrenals. I differentiated between thyroid hormone and t3 because that is the way I have heard it. Teri Re: is my FT3 too high? I want to thank all of you for suggestions and help. Guest guest
Thank you guys! Here are some of my test result: January 06 ordered by my doctor am blood cortisol 15 range 7-25 DHEA 85 35-430 ACTH 16 5-58 Then in May I did saliva test from ZRT Laboratory on my own DHEAS 7.1 range 3-10 am cortisol 5 3-8 noon cortisol 1.5 2-4 evening cortisol 1.6 1-2 night cortisol 0.9 0.5-1.5 In Jun 06 by my doctor am blood cortisol 16 range 7-25 DHEA 74 35-430 My Ferritin is low, in June it was 5, and my B12 in Jun was 190 I am expecting to call today with results on recent iron and B12 levels. Magnesium is I guess OK, it was 2.0 range 1.3-2.3 I am taking iron and it's going up slowly. I was not able to tolerate even iron when I was on Unithroid. I was taking 2-3 a week. Now on Armour I can tolerate it but only one a day. I take two sometimes. I also need B12 and all together is more then I can tolerate. I get same symptoms from whatever I take, thyroid meds, vitamins, iron.... What's wrong with me? LOL.
Guest guest
Wow ~ that ferritin level really is low. My dr likes mine to be 115. My last test it was 97. I am taking the Feosol iron tabs. I was taking 3 per day in divided doses but now I'm only taking 1 per day with food. I hope others will offer ideas. Hang in there. This stuff is not easy to figure out by ourselves, is it? lol Sue > > Thank you guys! > > Here are some of my test result: > > January 06 ordered by my doctor > > am blood cortisol 15 range 7-25 > DHEA 85 35-430 > ACTH 16 5-58 > > Then in May I did saliva test from ZRT Laboratory on my own > > DHEAS 7.1 range 3-10 > am cortisol 5 3-8 > noon cortisol 1.5 2-4 > evening cortisol 1.6 1-2 > night cortisol 0.9 0.5-1.5 > > > In Jun 06 by my doctor > > > am blood cortisol 16 range 7-25 > DHEA 74 35-430 > > My Ferritin is low, in June it was 5, and my B12 in Jun was 190 > > I am expecting to call today with results on recent iron and > B12 levels. > > Magnesium is I guess OK, it was 2.0 range 1.3-2.3 > > I am taking iron and it's going up slowly. Guest guest
Hi Sue! You asked me earlier if I use Celtic sea salt, and I don't. Where can I buy it? Is it only in health food stores? I don't crave salty foods and I actually don't like very salty. I have mix symptoms about adrenals. I am also taking Feosol, 45 mg a day. My Ferritin was 6 in January and in June was 5, after taking Feosol every day since I switched to Armour in February. I told you before that when I was on Unithroid I was not able to take more then 2 or 3 iron pills a week. I was getting sick, not stomach sick, but same symptoms like with thyroid meds. But my serum iron vent up some. My B12 went down sine I started Armour too. I don't understand this. I am still waiting for call from my doc's office. Thanks!
