Guest guest
Hi . I'm in Plano. I've just been here a couple of weeks, but I also lived here half of last year. I've been from WA state, to TX, to MD and back to TX in just under a year, but I'm all settled now and I think we'll be here for a while. I am having the same problem with fatigue. I'm just tired and unmotivated all of the time, but my other hypo symptoms such as dry skin, constipation, hair loss and feeling cold are not present at all. I definitely have the foggy brain. I'm unsuccessfully working on calming my hot flashes, so feeling cold these days is not much of an issue. I'll tell you though, all those winters spent in Canada were not a treat for me at all. I feel so lazy all of the time and then I have the guilt from that. That's how I described it to the first doctor when I was 18 years old. I said to him "Ok, so I'm a lazy girl, I'll give you that, but no one in the world could possibly be as lazy as I feel". That's when he tested my thyroid and the adventure began. I also really feel like I'm living outside of myself all of the time. People will say that an experience was 'surreal' and I think 'my whole life is surreal', that's just how I feel most of the time. Try explaining that to a medical doctor LOL. I was losing my hair for the time that I was on Synthroid, but I don't have that symptom with the Eltroxin. They're both Levothyroxine, but there seems to be a difference for me. Soon, I won't be able to get it any more and I really want to try the Armour. There are a few doctors in the area that will prescribe it, but only one is on my insurance list. I'll call the others to double check that before I travel the 25 miles. Although I am tired all of the time, I was exactly where you are about 3 years ago. I couldn't sit down without falling asleep and I could barely get myself out of bed. I didn't go anywhere but work, I was just exhausted. I got no help from the doctor who sent me to a sleep clinic that ruled out sleep apnea and that was that. They witnessed me waking up every hour on the hour all night long, but I didn't have apnea and that was their only concern. What a waste of time and money. The odd thing was that I would perk up in the evening and have all of my energy when it was finally time to just sit and relax. I started reading about adrenal fatigue and was thrilled to finally see a comprehensive list of all of the symptoms that I had been complaining about. My doctor didn't believe in adrenal fatigue and tried to put me on anti-depressants. I went to the health food store and asked for something with adrenal support. They gave me some maca root capsules and that helped a lot. I'm still tired, but not debilitating so as I was back then. It also fixed my morning anxiety feelings which was actually the worst part. My TSH has been stable for at least a decade now, but I haven't had T3 or T4 tested in ages. I try to get them tested each time, but my doctors will only order the TSH. I think it's a great test, but I only started having it about 12-15 years ago, before that they always did the T3 T4 Uptake tests. It's funny that you had a friend named Judy. It's one of those names that sounds quite common, but you never really run into many. I think I've met 3 in my lifetime and one of those was my namesake... Judy Hello Everyone Thank you so much for welcoming me to this group. My name is Judy andI live in Texas. I have been on Levothyroxine medication for about 35years now. Most of that time I was in Canada taking Eltroxin 100mcg.I've been in the USA for 2 years now but I've still been refilling myprescription with the Canadian brand. I tried Synthroid once, forabout 6 months, but my hair fell out and I just did not feel well atall. I switched back to the Eltroxin as soon as I could. I am stillon it today. I am very interested in people experience with Armourthyroid. It has been mentioned to me many times over the years, butnever by a doctor of course. My doctors simply look at my numbers (orshould I say number since these days they only test for TSH and say mythyroid is fine and not related to any of my other symptoms. I'm alsoknee deep in menopause and that's not helping. When I was firstdiagnosed, my TSH was 62, but now it's in the range of 2-3. Iactually feel that's a little low for me and I think they've changedthe 'ok' chart over time. I used to run around 7 and I think I feltbetter then. So, thanks again, I look forward to reading and learning. Have agreat day!... Guest guest
Gabby! You made it! Welcome. I met Gabby at Doc's office either right before or right after her revision. She is a lot of fun and her weakness is Carl's Jr! LOL (inside joke, sorry). Watch out for Jo-who thinks she's our mama and loves my flying monkeys. And watch out for Marta who knows far more than she lets on. Between the two of them, however, just about any question you have will be answered. Glad you joined us, Gabby. Everyone - remember to say a prayer of Kenata who has DS on Tuesday and is overly nervous about the surgery. Jim _____ From: DS_Friends_Keshishian [mailto:DS_Friends_Keshishian ] On Behalf Of a G.
