Guest guest
After 4 yrs you'd think I'd have this DS stuff figured out. Well, after 2 weeks of diarrhea and attributing it to my flu like symptoms, I have figured out that my recent bout of diarrhea isn't connected to the virus. I am lactose intolerant! I guess I will have to avoid milk/milk products like the plague. I thought the bowel crap was related to the virus but had been on a Chai latte kick(Gee thanks Marta for the habit...LOL) and found a brand I liked in the stores. At one of the discount places I found the Tazo concentrate for the ridiculously low price of $1. Well, I ran out New years day and had a decent 24/48 hrs with little bowel problems. I thought my " virus " was better. Then Tom wanted pancakes after work last night and I don't usually eat them but did this once. Anyway, You CAN'T have pancakes with out milk and I drank a big glass of milk. Well, I woke about 5am with severe cramping and watery diarrhea. While I was bored on my potty, I sat there and put 2 and 2 together and deduced that it was the milk in the Chai And not the virus that has been tearing me up. I'm going to avoid milk products for a few day's and test my theory but I'm 98% sure it is the culprit. Will let you guys know how my Theory works out. Guest guest
Mel, I am glad you made this connection. I have been really focusing on eating healthy and concentrating on what foods my body likes and what foods my body rejects. Well, I already knew I was lactose intolerant. I found that out at 3 months when I ate a ice cream cone. I was just very thankful I was home at the time. What I have figured out recently is that sugar does a real number on me. I have to stay away from sugar and from milk products. The milk products I cannot eat is milk, ice cream, sour cream, cream cheese, goat cheese. I even stay away from cottage cheese and yogurt although I think I am okay eating these. I think that I get slight gas when I have yogurt or soy milk. I love it when I am eating healthy and I have bowel movements that are close to what they were like presurgery. Sorry if that was TMI. --- MDL1031@... wrote: > After 4 yrs you'd think I'd have this DS stuff > figured out. Guest guest
, there is no such thing as TMI with this group. That is what we are about. So, it is also true of me, when I eat correctly, my BM is normal. Marta > I love it when I am eating healthy and I have bowel > movements that are close to what they were like > presurgery. Guest guest
Jim, That is why I love this list so much. I have learned all I wanted to know and all I didn't want to know, lol about this surgery. Whenever I have a concern, I know exactly what to do because someone has gone through it and has shared about it. Thanks everyone for making this list awesome. --- Jim wrote: > AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH, bowel movements -- such language, > such a topic for a board > like this. I can't take it! Guest guest
Marta, I feel great as I have learned how to have presurgery bm's. However, I still deal with a lot of gas. I have eliminated flour from my diet. I stay away from all milk products and I limit my sugar intake. But I still get gas in the evenings. I notice that when I don't eat that much, my gas is less but then that isn't always true. I have noticed that it takes a few days for my body to feel the effects of healthy eating. I think some people just deal with more gas than others?? Does anyone have any suggestions about the gas issue? I know we have talked alot about this subject. I am single and I really would like to meet someone someday but I am embarrassed about the gas issue. Maybe I should only date dsers, lol. --- mjs93311 wrote: > , there is no such thing as TMI with this > group. That is what we > are about. Guest guest
, I have " rumbles " that get reabsorbed. It is irritating and I know my honey can feel it when he hugs me. Farts aren't a big problem. As you noted, much of it is under my control. Maybe you will find someone with IBS. lol I did. Just go for it and things will work out for themselves. Guys don't worry about that sort of thing as much as women do. Just think back. Don't you have any men in your family? lol Marta > Marta, > > I feel great as I have learned how to have presurgery > bm's. However, I still deal with a lot of gas. Guest guest
No, we know that has no men in her family. If she did, she would know that men not only congratulate one another on " great " farts, they give pries for the loudest, smelliest, sneakiest and a whole host of other categories. Men have an Fartadamy award show each year! The one thing I dislike most is my IBS or what ever it is that has me permanently on pudding poop alert. Guest guest
Marta, I have an ex-husband who is from Mexico and he thinks farting is not cool. Oh well, huh? He got onto my daughter's case for farting while we were eating dinner. I guess he thinks that farting at the dinner table is not good, which he has a point. But, I just told him that in my house, my daughter and I burp and fart as we please, that we don't have to live by fart and burp rules, lol. I told him that if you can't burp and fart in your own home, where can you? On the positive side, he now farts when he wants around me. But, I don't feel comfortable farting around him like I did when we were married. My nephew lives with me. He is 20. If I fart and it smells, he makes a big deal about it. Thank goodness he isn't around a lot since he works. My daughter is really cool. She doesn't make me feel bad for farting, even if it does smell. Thank goodness for that since we share a bedroom. --- mjs93311 wrote: > , > > I have " rumbles " that get reabsorbed. It is > irritating and I know my > honey can feel it when he hugs me. Guest guest
Jim loves my farts. He has an evil scheme in which he plans to record them and sell them to the movie studios for sound effects. He says nothing they could imagine could match my farts!!!!!!!!!!!
