Re message below from Donna. How many berries should one eat daily in place

of the tablets as a preventative? I have access to them at home. I remember

eating them as a child and pretending they were cheese!

Hi Wayne. Personally I would take as much hawthorne as I could tolerate for

about six months. This is what Schulze did and was cured. He chewed the

berries all day long

----- You can also make your own easily for alot less money. You can chew

them but they have tiny little pits

Hi Jillymeg.

I am not an expert in this. I only know from personal experience that hawthorne

makes me sleepy and so I would do the bulk of it in the evening. But Dr.

Schulze said he chewed them all day long. I don't think you can really overdose

on them because basically you would realize soon enough that you were sleepy and

you could just back down.

I suspect it is a very individual thing. Some people are so hyper adrenal that

they can probably take huge amounts and not feel tired or sleepy. Others will

tolerate much less. Which puts it into the scarey self responability realm.

Smile. You just have to try some and figure it out for yourself and basically

take as much as you can without feeling drugged all the time.

Not a doctor and not prescribing, just sharing what I have done and what makes

sense to me.

Warmly

In connection to the hawthorn Berries. It is written on the label not to take it

along with prescription medication digitalis..such as digitoxin, lanoxin and all

other medication that are under this group. Digitalis is a heart medication that

has a positive ionotropic effect, that is it increases the contractility of the

heart muscles and is a drug of choice in conditions such as CHF(congestive heart

failure) where the cardiac output is low. Digitalis also has a negative

dromotropic effect, that is it decreases the conduction of the electrical

impulses in the heart and overdosing on digitalis may lead to a heart block

where the impulses no longer pass beyond the AV node into the ventricles, a life

threatening condition.

Hawthorn berries also have a similar effect and are good as it has a positive

ionotropic effect but also decreases conductivity and may have to be taken in

moderation. I am not an expert on the effects of Hawthorn berry, but Iwouldn't

try to overdose on them.
