Guest guest
Mindy, Just wanted to say congrats. That would be my dream come true!! Food is a nightmare for us.... Long black lines all over the food screens, top to bottom...... Maybe someday! Becky Food allergy screen > > My son has been a patient of Dr. Goldberg's for 2 years now. When we first started the protocol, we had a food allergy panel done on my son that clearly showed a high reaction ( off the charts) to Dairy, Beef, among others. > We immediately put our son on a strict diet to eliminate the foods causing the problems. > As hard as I tried to keep him on the strict diet, periodically he would get something that he should not have and I noticed recently that he didnt seem to have any adverse reactions. Dr. G ordered to have another food allergy panel and as I suspected, everything was now in the insignifigant range. Even dairy products, that were off the charts before, were now considered low enough to be insignifigant. The first blood test was ordered through BioTek Labs and the results were charted with results of both the IgG and IgE levels. The second blood test taken last month went to Meridian Labs. I phoned Meridian Labs and they combine the IgG and the IgE levels for one charted result. > I am just curious if anyone else had improved bloodwork on the food allergy screen and what Dr. G said about it. > Thanks, Mindy > > >
Guest guest
Mindy Yes ours have improved greatly - but over a longer period - 4 years and 4 tests. Latest done in July has only 3 Equivocal - cows milk, cottage cheese and lamb. Though all these have come right down, including Egg white which was the last one in the " significant " end. The first test had 20 significant and 7 Equivocal. Most of the " significant " were dairy and gluten related. Dr G says that the results are indicative of what has been consumed that causes an allergic immune response, and over time, if the food is taken away, then the response will reduce. This has been our experience. However he also says that some food will show negative because they have not been consumed - and can show up positive later if eaten. He also says that recent negative results that were once positive does not mean that its OK to start again. We have seen some (like lamb) go up slightly if we increase the intake. There is a balance. It might take some time before foods can successfully be reintroduced. Our sons gluten, wheat oats etc results are now hardly a blip, yet he throws up any gluten eaten - even spelt bread.! hope this helps Food allergy screen My son has been a patient of Dr. I am just curious if anyone else had improved bloodwork on the food allergy screen and what Dr. G said about it. Thanks, Mindy
