Guest guest
My son did this when he was 3. Luckily I am at home with him when he is not in school, but we had to put keyed deadbolts on the inside of our doors, and then we hung the key close by but out of his reach. --- In , Adolfo Alarcon <beatricebarroco@s...> wrote: > > > > Hello! > > My boy loves to run away from places , or from the school or from houses, he hasn't developed those bounderies in his brain , so he elopes when he is bored, he did this 3 times yesterday from the babysitter house, so please help me with suggestions. > > thanks. > > Sam > > > >

Oh and we also instituted a reward/punishment system...basically we took away favorite videos and he earned them back by staying in the yard/house. He was not a big runner, but it seemed to have taught him the lesson fairly quickly and easily.
Guest guest
if its any consolation my autistic boy (now 12) grew out it, but used to wander away to neighbors from 4 years old to about 8 years old. Aside from putting locks on the door that he couldn't open, we also let him explore as long as we knew where he was. We also took extra steps to bring him to new parks, activities, etc to statisfy his wanderlust. I need help, my 5 years old loves to run away... Hello! My boy loves to run away from places , or from the school or from houses, he hasn't developed those bounderies in his brain , so he elopes when he is bored, he did this 3 times yesterday from the babysitter house, so please help me with suggestions. thanks. Guest guest
Sam: This is scary! We've had this problem since my son was 3yrs old. So scarey that he walked into someone's home, curious to see what they had in the fridge and what was on t.v., and the homeowner pointed a gun at his head! We have our house locked up tight, with keyed deadbolts, and the window screwed shut, a 8 ft privacy fence, etc. You need to have your babysitter have eyes on him at all times, it can be stressfull. --- In , Adolfo Alarcon <beatricebarroco@s...> wrote: > > > > Hello! > > My boy loves to run away from places , or from the school or from houses, he hasn't developed those bounderies in his brain , so he elopes when he is bored, he did this 3 times yesterday from the babysitter house, so please help me with suggestions. > > thanks. > > Sam > > > >
