I don't anger and disappoint myself. (Could this be true some of the time perhaps?) My thinking angers and disappoints me. I can seem to focus on cleaning the house. (Sometimes you do, maybe? Let's open up to reality and let a little air in.) I can't seem to focus on cleaning up my thinking. (Could this be true or truer?) I can perservere on housecleaning tasks. (Surely you must once in a while, or you'd be knee-deep in gunk.) I cannot perservere on thought-cleaning tasks. Did you try doing a worksheet judging your house and mess? Guest guest
No Bev I did not do a worksheet judging my house and mess..... yet. Hey, I just made a little progress on my house and mess anyway.... getting ready for when a friend will help me clean on Monday. PS--thanks much for the input and new twists on my self statements... I can work on this again. On Saturday, December 13, 2003, at 07:17 PM, Beverly Garland wrote: > How about these? > > I don't anger and disappoint myself. Guest guest
, I love Bev's suggestion to write a worksheet on your house. Another idea is to write on housework itself. Example: I hate housework because it never ends, it takes me away from what i really want to do, (etc.) Almost any concept can be questioned using the JYN worksheet - it doesn't have to be a person. suggests not writing about ourselves when we are new to the Work. Speaking from my own experience as someone with a propensity for self-flaggellation, when I first started doing the Work, I found it was easy to use the process against myself. When I would heed 's advice and point the finger of blame outward, it seemed to be a kinder, gentler way to approach and undo the stories. And you just can't do it wrong. I appreciate the why of why not to do this on ourselves. We use it too easily against ourselves...that makes sense.
