Guest guest
Sharon, I am also looking at changing from a Treo. Not sure what to replace it with but wanted also to be able to sync into my office PC and manage my Updox and AC from the phone via a remote desktop link. Anyone have any suggestions? Looks like a Windows mobile 6 with a " ? " named additional program might let you do that or signing up for GoToMyPC, but it has an annual fee. Guest guest
Sharon, since you have Verizon, you may want to check out the new XV6900. Just came out the end of April, so as with anything new, not sure what troubles it will have. Generally good reviews and has the fingertip touch like the i-phone. I am considering purchasing the same vs a blackberry. vs switching to ATT and getting the i-phone. Guest guest
NEVERMIND! I just ran into someone who got this phone. he had it two weeks, took a class to learn how to use it and turned it in for a Blackberry curve (which is going well). Evidently there were 7 other physicians in the store to return their XV6900 as everyone hated it!!! Ortega-Schmitt wrote: Sharon, since you have Verizon, you may want to check out the new XV6900. Guest guest
I have a Treo 650 which will not run Windows, but am also looking at a way to access LogMeIn via a handheld device. It seems that the Treo 700wx might be a good choice. See the attached LogMeIn review of devices that they say will access via their site. What are the problems you (all) have had with your Treo? I have not seen the need so have not subscirbed to internet access to date, using the cell phone and PDA functions only . Do you know something about Treo that I dont know? Guest guest
I have a 650 Treo also, it is coming up on the end of the contract. It worked well, no hardware problems. It was a little big compared to some of the new phones. It has a higher radiation level than some of the newer phones (for whatever that may mean). The main reason I wanted to switch was to use a Pocket PC device like a laptop and access my office PC and do work away from the office. Thought it would be nice to run my Updox program and save labs to the AC chart on the office PC through a remote desktop link via my pocket pc phone while I was out of the office. That way I only had to deal with things once and not repeat steps when I was back at work. wrote: > I have a Treo 650 which will not run Windows, but am also looking at > a way to access LogMeIn via a handheld device. Guest guest
Mike, have you switched to a Pocket PC device yet? How does it work via remote access of your EMR? Guest guest
I haven't switched yet and am not sure the best way to access the remote desktop link via a pocket pc. Has anyone else had success? I will let you know if I can figure it out. I put a post on CNET but so far no reply. wrote: > Mike, have you switched to a Pocket PC device yet? Guest guest
Steve switched to an iphone in March and LOVES it. He can’t access our charts remotely, but he can get to anywhere on the internet, including RelayHealth. It means transferring to AT & T, but it works much better for him than his old TREO. We use my phone (Motorola Q) hooked to my laptop if we need to access the office remotely, such as when on vacation, but that’s only a couple times a year. Guest guest
Ron, I have a Treo 700p (almost 2 years). It has always been " buggy " (the 650's had a class action suit for similar problems). Can't end calls when I try, bluetooth works intermittently, etc. I had it replaced twice under the warranty and the refurbished ones weren't any better. My husband has the same phone, doesn't use email or web or added software (like epocrates, etc) and has fewer problems. I have used Palms for many years and always liked them before. Don't know if it is my software, lemons, or a general problem with them. The web browser works, but it is way too close to think about doing something like GoToMyPC. Decided to try a Blackberry Curve. Have had it since yesterday. Somewhat of a learning curve. Email (patients) and messaging (tween and teen daughters) work great. Haven't put Epocrates and stuff on yet. Bluetooth, voice dialing, and battery life awesome compared to my Treo so far. I'll update after I figure more stuff out. Anybody with a Blackberry using the Enterprise solution (wireless syncing with calendar, etc)?
