Just a note to pass on a positive development ...

In the week leading up to his fifth birthday on April 14th, our son

started using the potty for his bowel movements.

God willing ... no more diapers ...

Hi Audra,

One thing we did was each time he pooped in a diaper ... we would

assist him in taking the diaper to the potty, emptying it and then

flushing.

The hope was that he would figure out it was just easier to cut out

the middle man.

When he did it on his own for the first time we had big celebrations

(suckers etc) which we don't do for just anything ...

We were at a stage for a long, long time where he just wasn't

interested. But once he did it, that became the normal routine ...

Hope that helps ...

Dave

Just to put in my two cents, I potty trained my son at 5 with the Me Book

method. It worked like a charm. I took a liter of his favorite soda with a big

cup, put him on the potty for ten minutes. Filled it up as many times as he

wanted and after ten minutes let him run around for one minute, then back again.

Oh, then after two minutes of sitting on the potty he would get a small piece of

a treat (it can be anything, jelly bean, cookies whatever). It took a little

over one day and I had him trained just in time for kindergarten!!

Good Luck~~
