good luck!!! I hated that whole not eating thing. The

Isopure Zero Carb 40mg of protein were helpful to the edge off

hunger. But they didn't help the head hunger!!!

Will be looking for your updates on the otherside!

a

Welcome to our little family of DS friends. Jim's the naughty boy,

always trying to cause a problem...but we still adore him.

Ok...you asked a couple questions: 1. the amount of food your eating

and not vomit. lol...hey that's one of the Perks of having the DS

over the RNY. The RNy tummy is supposed to be smaller than an egg.

The DS tummy is supposed to be about the size of a med. banana. As

you can see that allows a greater volume of food. (note: in the

first couple weeks the newly operated on tummy will be swollen and

won't allow the full amount of food. When the swelling goes down you

will see your new normal...and that will grow over time until your

able to eat approx. 1/2 the volume of food you could before surgery.

It is wise not to PUSH this expansion of the tummy. The longer it

takes before your tummy stretches the better your weight-loss will

be.)

2. Fear of Failure. Most people are. Having a DS failure in your

history makes you even more gun-shy. I think you will find several

revisions here...all successful! Remember, successful does not mean

Skinny. They have lost over 100 lbs, which for a revision is

amazing, they are healthier and happier with the DS...total successes.

I'm glad you intend to exercise. That means you have every intention

to succeed! Good for you! I also see no reason why you can't start

today. Start slow,...just walking. Sit in a chair and do arm curls

with a small weight (can of veggies, anything) It all adds up to

keep metabolism high, muscle mass in place and weight-loss high.

After you heal a bit more get more serious. Dr. K recommends

several 3-4 10 min. burst of exercise rather than one long workout

for " weight-loss " purposes. The residual rise in metabolism after

each burst of exercise burns more calories thru the day than One

workout. However for Cardiac health a 30-40 min. aerobic workout is

whats needed.

welcoming hug

Jo
