Erm....maybe you didnt see ALL the bags? thinks I am shocking.

Really though, 's mum first put me on to rolling clothes rathing than

folding them. She uses rubber bands to keep them rolled, but I find they

leave 'pinch' marks on the clothes, so I dont use them. You know the

lingerie bags you use to wash your bras in? Take one of them, and fill it

with your used panties (!) and bras. That way your dirties will always be

seperate.

You have short hair and you arent going to a 3rd world country, so dont pack

shampoo etc. Just use the hotel stuff or buy it from a convenience store

when you get there. Pantene is everywhere!!

Also, it is nice to feel pretty - but I dont take ANY jewellry on vacation.

leave it at home, then it will be safe.

leave copies of your travel insurance policy, your passports, your drivers

license, and your credit card numbers with one of your sons. That way you

can call for all the information if your bags get stolen.

Dont pack books. I used to always take a book in case I found time to

relax. It never happens!! If you do get time out on the beach, just enjoy

the sights and snooze. Books are heavy and rarely get read. You wont even

read on the flight. Your eyes get dry on long-haul flights and you will

just want to snooze or watch the tv.

As you pack, tell yourself the following mantra:

" the more I leave at home, the more room I will have to buy stuff "

It works!!

Also, just looking at all your layovers and plane changes - you are going to

want to fnid a product called " jet -ease " . It is a homeopathic jet-lag

relief formula that I swear by. www.jetease.com

There is no way you will be able to do that day tour if you are jet lagged!

Kristy, these are great suggestions. I leave on Wednesday for five weeks in

the UK. I'm taking your suggestions and I'm looking for " jet-ease " this

evening at the stores.

Jim

Who will be eating bangers and mash just for Marta. :-) :-) :-)

Kristy...the time you were here being our security patrol, you had a

suit case with a suitcase packed inside and perhaps 2 pants and 2

shirts....your plan was to shop here and go back loaded. All your

advice is valid...I plan to take it.

Jo,

I virtually never check luggage. I wear a pair of comfy shoes and

bring undies and maybe one extra pants and two shirts. I am a very

light packer. Chap stick and snacks, vitamins, a bottle of water. I

must have something to read or the iPod to listen to, but then I travel

alone. Of course, passport and money. I left without any British

Pounds and managed just fine. Wasn't organized enough to get them in

advance, but brought a bunch back with me for next time. Of course, I

have Euros around, too, from someone emptying his pockets on his way to

Japan. lol I couldn't find the Brit money I knew was lying all over

in nooks and crannies...Now I have it in plain sight.

Make sure you can kick your shoes off and slip them on in case you are

the lucky one to go through the strip search.

Australia.

This has been great...the No-jet-lag is now ordered, I even ordered

enough for the other family members (brothers/sister in law) Paid

extra for shipping to get it here...I'm serious about getting it!

Kristy I remember you telling me about it when you were here last

time and you said you would never travel without it again as you

were suffering from jet lag. I was just telling Joe today that our

travel was going to be a KILLER...so this hopefully will help.

Thanks for the reminder to leave pills in their prescription

bottles..I knew that...but may not have played by the rule and then

been sorry.

My Shoes are slip on, for airport security and comfort on the

plane...plus to allow for swelling. I don't know what Joe is going

to do shoe-wise but I'll remind him of airport security because he

always has to take off his shoes, I'll also tell him to travel

without his belt because most of the time he has to take that off

also.

Marta...I think I'm traveling pretty darn light with only one

checked bag and one carry on with being gone for 22 days. The

weather is humid so I also anticipate using more Tops...and there is

bull fight cloths and church cloths to bring. Plus we are staying

at a bed and breakfast type place...don't know if a washer will be

easily available or not...lol...but I can always Toss and Shop! lol.

Thanks for the great advice so far!

> used to wear suit and tie to church every week in Texas. He

is amazed that people turn up to church here in shorts and no shoes

(and no, I am not talking about the homeless!). It is just the

relaxed aussie lifestyle. Our god understands....he is laying on the

beach himself...

When we are in Hawaii, we attend church. We wear capris, shorts

sandals and an aloha shirt. We are welcome with open arms! The

church is actually a breezeway - no walls on 2 sides and you sit and

look at the ocean behind the pastor!

Our church here, we wear jeans in the winter, and shorts in the

summer. Very relaxed 1st service. The 2nd service is more formal.

But I know our God looks at our hearts not our clothes.
