Guest guest
I got my labs back and discussed them with my doc today. I also asked for a copy to get faxed to Dr. K's office. Most of it looks good. A few things to take care of though... My chloride is high: 112 (range 95-109). He wasn't sure about that, but is supposed to get back to me. My calcium is low: 7.6 (range 8.6-10.2). I need to be more consistent with my supplements and am starting more dairy. I am just not much of a milk person and have not been eating yogurt as much for snacks for several months now. I guess I will have to get into the swing of it again. My D levels were okay though. My Vitamin A was low: 0.24 (range 0.30 - 1.20). So, I was told to increase my ADEKS by one a day and eat more foods with A. The three specific ones we talked about were fish, liver and carrots. Fish makes me puke, so I bought some frozen liver fillets and will eat one every other day and then take a carrot or two to work with me for snacking. I am supposed to get rechecked in a month. We shall see. My doctor hasn't dealt much with any kind of bariatric surgery, so is interested to learn more, and is also cautious. He wants to keep on top of it. I gave him some info on the GR-DS from Dr. K's website. Dr. Newhall still is a little unsure about what my specific needs are. That's my report! in OR (who hates liver, but at least it doesn't make her puke)
Guest guest
That's interesting about the chloride. Mine is usually high too... although this time it wasn't. Do you mind me asking what your Ferritin was? Thanks for posting your lab results. I am always curious to see other DSer's labs!!! And Ugh on the liver. LOL Hugs, Kym
