Guest guest
I take my pred dose twice a day. in the mornings and at night. At night i experienced problems for sleeping, nut as flares are more like to strike at night i take the pred anyway, because if i don't, i won't be able to rest, i would fall sleep but i will wake up tired and soaked in sweat. Just try to take it 4 hours before you go to sleep, that is my advice. Now i'm currently on 5mg in the mornings and 5mg at night. My dose have been cut down from 20mg to 10 mg daily. Good Luck! Guest guest
Hi, I have recently been back on prednisone. I have also been really angry and depressed. I don't remember it making me feel this way before, but it has been a while. My husband and I are fighting almost every day, but he does seem to understand why. I have also noticed that since I have been back on prednisone, food tastes terrible. Hope things get better! </HTML>
Guest guest
While I can never say I never got mad or became violent when pushed.....Prednisone definitively adds fuel to that fire! I used to have a real long fuse before I'd go off.....well that isn't the case anymore. I can also say that the doseage I'm on doesn't seem to effect this too much, although real high doses seem to put me in a bad mood all of the time.....but that can probably be attributed to the fact that generally speaking....when one is on a high dose they are feeling like hell anyway, so there isn't too much to be happy about to start with. I don't know if that makes any sense, but I can't think of another way to put it at the moment. Kirk. > > I have been up and down on prednisone for 5 years. Guest guest
I definetly notice an attitude change when on prednisone. The higher the dose the more aggressive I am. I have been married to my husband 3 years and on prednisone 2+ years. My husband and I didn't date long and he thought he had gotten himself into a miserable situation. It took me a while to reallize that it was the steroids and everytime I have decreased them things have gotten a little better. Be aware of your self and celebrate when you are not aggressive! It helped me to accept the aggression and realize where it was coming from and then each celebration of being nice brings you that much closer to it really happening. I am still on prednisone but I have much less confrontations now. K ************************************** See what's free at http://www.aol.com. Guest guest
Dear I also take pred and other meds and I also get angry at times but for me personally I feel it is more frustration with stills surfacing and not being able to control what and when you can do things in other words your not in charge and I find that very hard to stomach. Your anger may be to do with taking pred. who knows but just thought I would send my thoughts to you. Hope you are feeling calmer today and have put down the boxing gloves (only joking) Best wishes. Guest guest
Thanks K and it is okay. just to let you and others know why is her things keep coming back to me .I found out she paid off my son not to come and be with me on my wedding ... he became an alcoholic and I was the only one that would help him clean up from it . She is the one buying the stuff for him for over 3 years starting when he was only 17. She is not a drinker but felt it was better to let him drink at home then going out. in parenting classes she found out this is not good like du and told him to stop just like that and when he could not threw him out on the streets with no help so I got him here and helped him get over it . . Now I know he gets no support from her unless it is to keep him away from me. Well she also promises him things and dose not fallow. She seams to pull off some thing new and I get stuck holding the bag so to speech because I love my kids and will not use them as tools. My ex and I do not speak period. Yet you and I know we should for the kids are they over 18 or not because it is better to have a united front for them then not. When I have tried to talk to her I have been treated and well have got to taste how far she will go in the past so I do not try any more. I only hope when my daughter is over 18 she will finally want to talk or see me again some time but that is another year away and for the last 6 she has been kept from me. To day they call this Parental alienation syndrome Hugs all Marty the redneck Re: Prednisone Marty, Forgive me if I seem to be putting my nose in but I have to tell you if you don't forgive your ex-wife and your past situation you aren't going to feel as good as you can. Guest guest
Hi Nana, don’t worry too much about the bloodwork, they usually don’t do the right tests …and…50% of inflammatory arthritis (which is what a rheumy is gonna look for) doesn’t show up on the bloodwork. I have not done the predisone but it could really help…or not. It’s all about controlling inflammation. That is a low dose I believe, but higher doses can really mess with your immune system over time…and contribute to weight gain. Pain treatment is tricky for PWME/CFS, as what works for one does not for another. Good luck with the prednisone and I hope that by now you are experiencing some pain relief! Congrats on the coming new home and grandbaby! The house sounds like a great project…but of course you must make sure not to overdo! Guest guest
I tried prednisone at the begining. It didn't really improve anything. I just noticed that it kept me awake at night. Have you had any luck? Kendra > > Hi, I'm back from the rheumatolagist, bld. work was ok, except liver enzyme is elevated. She has put me on predisone 5mg 3x/day. If its going to work I should know in 72hrs. Any feedback on this would be appreciated. How can you hurt so much and the bld. work be OK??? Isee her again in 2wks.????
